THE MACK DADDY
Talk about a kitchen trash can! This sucker is awesome. The big belly and wide mouth lid swallows a dirty Chinet platter whole when tossed in. I use 55 gallon bags just to be extra, but I am sure 33 gallon black trash bags would suffice. You might as well forget about those white kitchen bags though, they can't even hold a couple of empty 2 Liter bottles let alone be worthy of lining this stainless steel wonder. The sensor works great, has the option of plugging it into the wall with an adapter (sold separately) or 'D' batteries, and you can easily turn the lid off so it's not going bonkers on you while changing the liner. Oh and it has these fresh scent filters on it to keep it from getting smelly. If you're like me though you buy so much on Amazon you take the trash out daily so that's never a problem. The casters are a nice addition when you need to sweep/mop or relocate when cooking heavily. The size is perfect in my kitchen though if it were any larger it would be too large. So... let's talk about the price tag because I know what you're thinking in the back of your head... "man this thing looks awesome but what kind of person would I be to spend $150 on a kitchen trash can." Well you know what... 'MERICA! Stop thinking about it and order it, I've done the research and you should trust me because I am a total stranger that is irresponsible with money.

Great garbage can....I bought it again
I have owned my can for 4 years now and it's getting on in age. Yep, little motor on lid still works but something broke on the inside and I opened it up. Not sure where they belong bit did not really affect the functionality other than the lid close faster with less delay. My wife dented the can itself after 4 years of no dents even after I told her not to lift it and take it out due to the bag being heavy and possibly ripping. Of course drops it on the edge of the city can dings the metal. Anyway, keeping the old one cuz it still works and put the new one in the kitchen to replace. Hoping I can get another 4 yeears out of this and keeping it ding free. The reason I like this can so much other than looks and functionality is that actually removing the garbage out is a cinch because of the slight convex shape. The can with 90 degree straight up walls a serious pain to remove the garbage bags. This one easy, easy. Recommend getting the AC adapter, I just plugged my old one from the original into this and boom working perfectly on the new one. Highly recommend to anyone.

In love with this Trash Can
I purchased this trash can after fighting with the cheap one I had for the last time. I knew I wanted one that was HUGE and was worried about the motion detection because ones I had in the past were not great. Took the leap and could not be happier. It is HUGE so it does not have to be emptied as often. The filters do control smells. I threw out some bad chicken that would normally make my whole house stink the next day. That didn't happen with this trash can, the stink stayed in the can. It is on wheels! So I can roll it to where I need it. If I am cleaning I can roll it to that room or roll it from its normal spot to the counter to throw away scraps without trying to run the wet potato peels across my kitchen leaving a trail of drips from sink to trashcan. The motion sensor is quick to respond (almost to quick because my 19 month old has figured it out and thinks it is a toy) so far it is amazing and I hope the motion detection holds up. if it does not I will update my post at that time but the past few months have been great!

Still loving it a year later!!!
I bought this can in May 2019 and still love it! Still using the same batteries from May. Size, look and space it takes up is perfect. Uses regular large black bags, so no hunting for special high priced bags. The size of the can works incredibly with the bags, I can actually fill the bag, and no problems pulling the full bag from the can. Motion detection works great! A year before, I had purchased another motion det can, different brand and a only slightly smaller. I used 13 gallon white bags (or by the custom sized bags for an arm and leg) - which never quite fit, and had to change 4 D batteries monthly - seriously. I was changing the bag every day because the can was so slim. Hated it. It took me forever to decide on a replacement because I was so disappointed in the last $125 I spent on a garbage can. I don't typically write long reviews - but this can is worth my time and money. Every penny. Extremely satisfied with this purchase!

Trash can lid stopped working
I was initially pleased with this trash can, but unfortunately, the trash can lid stopped working. I would love for the lid to be replaced, especially considering the price of the item.

My second one
I originally purchased the previous model of this trashcan years ago. Eventually the automatic open mechanism started to fail. I was able to fix it at first by redoing the solder joints which connected wires to the circuit board. That made it last a few more years longer until finally it would refuse to close the lid. Push the close button, and BAM! "no I'm staying open, sucker! HAHA!" Tired of being mocked by a rebellious garbage can, I decided to purchase this model for a replacement. iTouchless didn't sell replacement parts for the older model. So far, so good. It works as expected, but I think I get the most pleasure of leaving it in a common area and having it scare the bejeezus out of people who visit my house when it salutes them as they walk by. I would advise trying to keep any liquids from seeping into the sensor/control panel mounted on the front, as I think that may be a contributing factor to the previous trashcan's sassy behavior. Another word of caution: once you get one of these, you will be stuck in a cycle of purchasing them for the rest of your life. It will be impossible to go back to a standard lower class, "manual" trashcan ever again. iTouchless could make a huge fortune if they made them not last as long, as I would gladly sell my house and live out of my car if it meant more money to buy one every month. Haha, just kidding. They're reliable.
