It's A Jurassic World After All
I was happy to get five Jurassic movies in a reasonably priced set. Being in the Blu-ray format, the video quality is excellent. Every film also includes numerous bonus features. Directed by Steven Spielberg, "Jurassic Park" (1993) was based on the 1990 novel by Michael Crichton. Wealthy industrialist John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), and his InGen bioengineering company scientists, have created cloned dinosaurs. The formerly extinct creatures will be put on display for the public in Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar. Once these creatures manage to escape their confinement, there’s no stopping them. The thinking that men can safely control the dinosaurs is proven wrong, again and again. This film has justifiably achieved classic status. In "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" (1997), a research team, led by Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), travels to Isla Sorna, the original island where the dinosaurs were created. Ostensibly, they went there to document and photograph the dinosaurs. Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm: "Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming." The BioEngineering company InGen sent another team to Isla Sorna to catch, sedate, and transport the dinosaurs to San Diego, where they will be used in a new Jurassic Park. They managed to bring back an adult and baby Tyrannosaurus Rex, with disastrous results. This movie compares favorably to the original. In "Jurassic Park III" (2001), paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), happy to have left Jurassic Park alive, reluctantly travels to Isla Sorna. Paul Kirby (William H. Macy), and his wife Amanda (Téa Leoni), offer to fund Grant's future research, if he will describe the dinosaurs they see while they fly around Isla Sorna. However, the plane lands, and the group search the island for the Kirby’s lost son. Highlights include a fight between a Spinosaurus and a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the trek through a giant enclosure housing Pteranodons. It's a very good film, but not in the same league as the first two films. In "Jurassic World" (2015), the theme park Jurassic World, located in Isla Sorna, is doing good business. However, Operations Manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) wants to spice things up by having the genetic scientists create a new breed of dinosaur, which they name the Indominus Rex. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) is a Velociraptor expert who trains Velociraptors at Jurassic World. His star pupil is the cunning Velociraptor named Blue. The Indominus Rex, a cross between a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Velociraptor, cleverly escapes containment and, predictably, goes on a killing spree. Like man, it is the only creature that kills for sport, not just for food. It's great to see the dinosaurs on film again, as a continuation of the original trilogy of Jurassic movies. In "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" (2018), the Jurassic World theme park has been closed down for three years. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs, because a long dormant volcano on the island is about to erupt, which will kill all of the remaining dinosaurs. John Hammond's former partner, Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell), wants to relocate the dinosaurs to a new island sanctuary. Lockwood’s aide, Eli Mills (Rafe Spall), masterminds a plot to bring the captured dinosaurs to Lockwood’s estate, and auction them off to wealthy bidders. The most spirited bidding is on the Indoraptor, a genetically-modified dinosaur that includes Indominus Rex and Velociraptor DNA. Later, Owen and Claire manage to release the caged dinosaurs. Undoubtedly, they will all appear in "Jurassic World 3," set to be released on June 11, 2021, which will make this 5-film set incomplete. It's a Jurassic world after all!

Good Not Great
First off, Of Course my flip mechanism in the box arrived broken. But the discs are ok. As for the transfer quality, I agree with other reviewers, that the first 3 films do not look true 4k quality. To my eyes the Blu-ray’s look better as far as detail. For example, I noticed fuzzy edges on objects such as in Jurassic Park when they are first going to the island in the helicopter when it’s flying over the ocean. But, I’d say the night time scenes (black levels) are much better on 4k. Overall the clarity on the first 3 films is not what you would expect from the usual 4k treatment of an iconic classic film. They just seemed a tad blurry to me (for lack of a better word). Jurassic World however looks Absolutely Fantastic though! It’s a Big improvement over the Blu-ray which was great in its own right. I wish they would’ve put each disc in it’s on thin slip case! I’ve seen a set like that on YouTube but can’t find it. I’m still happy to have this set. Overall it’s a very nice collection.
