Nice Bike
Other reviews had complaints about forks being bent. Maybe there was shipping damage or something, but for me it was all fine. I didn't use the instructions as I put together many bikes in my life. Everything went together fine, no issues. It seems like a nice bike for the price. My 9 year old son enjoys it. So far, so good.

Damage Bike
I brought this bike for my son for Christmas, didn't open it till Christmas eve. When i opened the first box the second box was so damaged looked like somebody taped it back together at a pre-school, and when i started putting it together the front wheel was bent, the rear reflector was broke and the gear shift on the back wheel was so bent the rear tire wouldn't turn, as I tried to make it work so my son could at least ride on Christmas day some C-clamp flew of making things even worst for me trying fix it to work to see my son happy on Christmas morning....I put a lot of gifts together that morning but this thing had me up till 3:30am working on it, but even though my son couldn't ride his new bike because of the weather it was nice to see his face knowing he had a bike for Christmas. But I'm returning this thing asap and wouldn't recommend this purchase to anyone.

Nice bike
This bike came from Amazon Warehouse. It was supposedly damaged. The only damage was the box it came in. Everything works great. I assembled it in a half hour or so. I was going to cut it up for some bike parts for a bike I'm making... But why cut up a perfectly good new bike? It's now it's going to the grandson for Christmas.

A great find!
My son both outgrew and wore out his first bike during lean times for bicycle supply in this pandemic. Reviews on this indicated problems with the condition of the materials received and some hiccups putting it together, but my son liked the pictures and the options were few. The box arrived in TERRIBLE condition, so I held my breath. However, everything was in order for us except a broken rear reflector. The bike went together with about an hour's unpacking and work, but I'm adequate at such things and some of the other reviewers provided good tips. (Hat tip to whoever offered tips on the braking system.) The bike is making my son really happy, and we're pleased with the purchase. It's sturdy, speedy and, as I write this, is being passed among the neighborhood children for some laps around the block. It's a solid value for the money. Children at this stage won't be on it forever, so I expect it will more than survive rough play and make it through until we're ready for a larger size.

Looks great and performs great
The assembly was not very intuitive. Took some figuring, but once it was together, it was awesome. The kid loves it and rides in constantly.

Buyers Beware
The entire front fork is bent brakes pads wont align forks are bent brake mount is bent steering is not straight and never will be.bought this for my sons 9th birthday gift I havent enough time to return it so im stuck giving him a bent up front fork with a chipped up paint job on a brand new bike I paid $240 for.not happy over all would "NOT" recommend.

Great 1st mountain bike for 7 year old
20” bmx bike was not really working for our 7yo - especially on long bike rides with the family. Got this mountain bike and our son loves it, he can keep up now and pretty good price for the quality. We’re very happy with the purchase

Price is not worth what was received
This bikes looks good but it comes with problems. I bought it for my sons 8th birthday for his first big boy bike and I was hoping for better results. The box was beaten up pretty good upon delivery and unboxing it we started to notice discrepancies right away. The seat already had a small tear in it first of all, then as we started putting it together the front forks were so bent that it wouldn’t fit over the axle. The bent forks couldn’t just be the result of poor handling during shipment as they aren’t just compressed inwards as if it got smashed, they are also twisted and don’t line up straight which appears to be the result of welding them in the wrong position. I managed to bend them out with a small car jack and then I had to use some big pliers to twist then ends to line up right. Once I finally got the wheel on the forks and gave it a spin I noticed how bent the front rim was. We got the seat and pedals on just fine then we mounted the handle bars and aligned them straight with the front wheel but again due to the poor quality of the forks you can easily see the forks aren’t straight still. I set the handle bars height for best reach then tightened up the brake levers for best comfort. As with any new bike it is expected to need adjustments for the brakes which was easy. The front brake cable comes unconnected to allow easy install of the front wheel but it was easy to setup and adjust. The back brakes didn’t require anything except a small adjustment to tighten up a little more with the set screw. At this point I let my son take it for a test ride and he seemed to really like it so far. I knew the derailleur still needed to be adjusted but that didn’t prevent his first test ride. The upper and lower limits on the derailleur need to be set and there’s not adjustment for the tension. The cable also needs to be adjusted and set screws at both ends. The description mentions easy shift however that is not the case here. When going from 1-7 gears it is easy to shift but trying to go back from 7-1 gears it requires a lot of force to twist the grip shifter. I fought with it for a few hours trying to adjust it in anyway possible to try and loosen up the shifter but no matter what it remains too hard to twist for my son and even for me. When I detach the cable the grip shift is better leading me to believe that’s not the cause. Operating the derailleur with my hand isn’t hard and seems to move as expected but it could possible be a little less tight which again can’t be adjusted. I believe there’s a mismatch between the type of grip twist and derailleur combo that needs to be addressed so he can finally shift back to the easier gears. All in all I paid $150 for the bike and at that price I am disappointed at the results. It is a good looking bike and my son still loves his big boy bike but for lack of knowing any better he is happy with it. If I had to buy this bike again I wouldn’t pay half the price of it due to the amount of effort it required. I would rather go to Walmart and spend my money there then pay the price for this bike again. I will try and buy a new shifter to see if I can make it easier for him to shift and hopefully it doesn’t require a different derailleur as well. I look forward to being able to go on rides with him and hopefully it doesn’t require more wasted time trying to make it easier for him to shift.
