CAMPLUX 5L 1.32 GPM Outdoor Portable Propane Gas Tankless Water Heater With 1.2 GPM Water Pump

First and foremost: set this thing up at home before taking it to the wilderness! You may find you need things from home depot to get this to work properly.Unit came clean out in box; however, taking caps off water tank lead to water coming out. Must have been a return and repack job. The cold water disconnect leaks like a sieve under the pump pressure with the shower head in the on position. Turning off the shower head the cold water quick disconnect leaks like a fire hose. The shower head leaks badly at the connection. the water heater itself does a good job of heating water. I reckon I can fix the leaking joints with creative use of rubber grommets and/or replacing the fittings. At full blast the pump with drain a 5 gallon bucket of water in under 3 minutes; thus, having a shower head that stops the water flow is a must. Fortunately, the pressure switch on the pump stops the pump when the shower head button is turned off IFF there are not massive leaks in the system.I was able to use one of the small rubber washers that came with the unit to stop the leak in the shower head. A pair of pliers to CAREFULLY turn the quick disconnect fitting on the water intake of the body stopped that leak, too. I do worry about the quick disconnect leaking in the future as my cousin had that happen. Take spare O rings that fit the disconnect with you. All in all, it does work with some effort.

This thing is absolutely amazing!!! Two d batteries and a small power supply for the yummy shower in the woods.My husband has been off grid and working lots of hours in hot and sweaty back woods of the hills and hollers. Worked great till it didn’t. Got way too hot. Like melters the hose hot!!! I’m several states away and couldn’t trouble. I had to try to do it and send messages to my husband to see when he could try what they requested. Long story short they sent us a whole new unit. It sucks when you are not in a good signal and in the sticks and can’t trouble shoot it in a good time frame. It took months to go back and forth. There was no “well your time expired and we will no longer help”. They stuck it out.I did buy extra pumps and parts to have on hand now as delivery to the sticks takes forever and I do not want this little pleasure for my husband and me to not be available at all costs.This thing is an absolute gem.Tip put on a filter at the water intake so all sediment is filtered out.This thing is great. As we build guest cabins they will each get the camp lux as it’s so simple almost no power needed. Top notch. Love this unit.

I have a 5' x 5' above ground swimming pool that I love during the summer. But since the weather has started cooling off the water is too cold. So I ordered this heater. It took about 4 hours to heat 580 gallons to absolute wonderful temperature. The set up is very easy following the directions. I hung the unit on my mesh screen fence, it does not get hot behind it, I plugged the plug into my cigarette lighter leaving my car running, and it didn't use much propane at all to get to about 90°. It will go hotter I just stopped it there. This is the ideal heater for you're swimming pool. It's quiet except for my car running. I have very close neighbors who did not like my car running for 4 hours, that is the ONLY reason I had to return it. So sad because I planned on swimming all winter. The hot water coming out was probably hotter than my indoor shower so if you want to use this unit for a shower it would be ideal. I did not find any cons to say about this unit. The only con I can say is about my gripy neighbors.

We returned this. I could not get the water to stay hot. It would get hot and then ice cold. At that time I smelled propane and tested the connections which were fine. Using a gas detector, we determined the propane was leaking inside the unit. The water connections suck. Very poor and potentially dangerous product.

Generally i like the appliance it is a work of art. just one problem the coldest setting is too hot to shower. so i plumed it so that yhe output mixes with cold water it ok for now I'll recommend it to any camper or off griidder like myself 👍

Bought this for my off-grid property where I was staying for 3 weeks without electricity or handy running water. I was able to use the Camplux with motorcycle battery and a 30 gallon water barrel that I purchased to create an amazing outdoor shower system. The first iteration was just a cheap dollar store kiddy pool and a few shower curtains rigged up with parachute cord until I could build my shower platform.The only criticism I have is that the pump would occasionally try to start for a split second, then stop - sometimes it would do this over and over. I would "fix" this by turning the shower on and then off again, so I assume it is because the button that shuts off the water had not completely closed the connection and the water was dripping out sufficient to trigger the pressure switch in the pump - annoying, but not enough to dampen my love for this product. I can't express how life changing it is to be able to take a hot (and I mean HOT - my well water is about 45 degrees and with this I was able to make the water too hot to stand under) shower after a long day of building a deck or mountain biking. I highly recommend this product

Using with 12v circ pump 150g Rubbermaid stock tank. Works very good, need to keep intake clean. 55 to 102 in 2 1/2 hrs. Sucks a little propane but 20 lbs good for a couple weekends. Pretty awesome!Off grid kit maybe should provide a filter.

I am disappointed at the quality of the shower head hose. The hose that came with the unit exploded and that was only after a handful of showers. So I purchased a replacement hose and camplux sent me a replacement for the hose that exploded. Great customer service. However, after using the second hose only 3 to 4 times the new hose again exploded.
