Now THIS is the product I've been looking for!!!!
Now THIS is the product I've been looking for!!!! Great clarity for birdwatching at our feeders. Everyone LOVES this! We have it viewing on a 16" TV in our livingroom and it's entertaining and relaxing. Positioning the camera is a bit of a challenge, but the results are WORTH the effort. We'd love to get another camera and screen to view our pond.

Amazing Camera!
I bought this camera in 2019 and have used it every year in our bluebird house. It has worked great each year. I decided that today was a perfect day to put up the bluebird house since it’s Valentines Day.🥰 I tested the camera in the house first like I always do & couldn’t get it to work, which was a major bummer. I even considered buying a new one thinking it had stopped working forever. I then realized I had forgotten to hook up a strategic power cable to the video connector. Duh! Anyway, it works beautifully as always I’m happy to report. I immediately placed the bluebird house (camera is attached inside the bluebird house) on the outside pole & went in the house to see what adjustment to the camera was needed. As soon as I turned on my TV to look at the video feed, a male & female bluebird flew in the house to check out their new home!! Looks like it’s going to be another successful season of several bluebird broods!

I'm expecting to enjoy owning this camera
I'm expecting to enjoy owning this camera. But I feel obliged to point out that despite the fact that this camera has "High Definition" as part of its name, it is NOT a high definition camera. The issue is not that the picture is terrible. BUT - the only video output is on a composite video cable. And that is NOT "high definition." "High Definition" is defined as 720 progressive at a minimum. My personal problem is that I don't own a single TV, home entertainment system or PC old enough to accept a composite video input cable! My devices go back to Component cables, S Video cables, and now most use HDMI connectors. There's nothing in my house old enough for me to plug this in to. (And I'm not so bleeding edge. Even my newest TV is more than two years old.)You can't connect this camera to anything newish. This camera is obsolete.

Best bird/nest cam for the $$$
This is a much better camera than the cheaper "non HD" Hawk Eye camera. I just installed it today (in a standard Bluebird box) and so far I'm impressed with the quality. It's not 720P or 1080P quality or even in widescreen format, but the resolution is better than standard definition and thus they can call it "high definition" because there is no standardized meaning of "high-definition" (per Wikipedia). Now some notes:* The camera has a short cord that you attach to the 100 foot included cable so you have to deal with protecting this connection if it's outdoors (there are three connections - power, video, and audio). On the plus side it makes it easy to just replace the 100 foot cable if it got damaged.* The output is your old-fashioned RCA yellow video connector with one white audio connector... it's not HDMI here even though it says "HD" and it's not stereo audio* You can buy additional cable if you need a run over 100 feet, though I'm not sure how that affects video quality.* There is a focus-lock screw on the lens which you loosen to set the focus and then lock it in. Don't forget to set the focus before installing if you can (it's often easier that way).* In a nest box, like a bluebird box, there will be little color because it will be dark, although I can sometimes see blue on the bluebirds when there is enough light during the brightest parts of the day.5 stars because I think it's the best there is for the $$. I'm REALLY enjoying watching what's going on in my bluebird box and looking forward to watching the eggs hatch in a few days.

Poor resolution at close range
I placed this camera in my chickadee bird house. Unfortunately, it's focusing range is not adequate for close-up viewing. Bird houses are essentially small enclosures and I've tried everything to get a sharp picture but this camera does not have that capability. It's good for outdoor viewing but not in a bird house, probably due to low light level.
