Amana Tool RB-128 High Precision Steel Router Collet Reducer 1/2 Overall D x 1/4 Inner D x 1-3/16 Inch Long

Works perfectly for my needs. I was gifted a monster 1/2” router but the majority of bits found at local stores are all 1/4”. I’m not trying to pretend to be a professional woodworker, my name is not Bob Villa or Norm Abrams. I don’t need commercial grade 1/2” bits to do minor home projects. This makes using more easily available bits possible, which is perfect for me.

Just a small steel tube with a split on one side but it is very accurately manufactured to fit between a 1/4 inch collet chuck and a 3/16 inch shaft mill or drill while maintaining near perfect concentricity. Opens up a whole additional range of tooling for my routers and die grinders.

most all of my routers have 1/2" collets and it's been so long since i've used the 1/4" collets i have no idea where they even are so rather than ordering new collets for different bran routers, i picked up this adapter. i mounted it and checked the runout and it was less than 0.0001" ( 1 hundred-thousandths), it fits the 1/2" collet perfectly and holds the bit securely with no slip.

Well made. Fast shipping arrived earlier than promised. Clean tool, no remaining burrs. Perfect fit to my original 1/4" collet and every 3/16" cutter I've used in it so far.

This worked well to replace my beat-up Makita collet that became difficult to remove bits from. The Amana has a different design that I hope holds up better but is otherwise the exact same size. It has 4 segments, but none run the full length of the collet and all 4 cuts are through the entire thickness of the collet versus the Makita that had one full cut through the entire collet while the other 3 were only scored the entire length.

I like the way this works. Push it on the shaft and it does not slip off. Easy to pull off.

This is my second one in 40 years of owning this router. Use mostly 1/2" bits , but this always good to have when I have to use 1/4" bits.

I had an issue with another Amana 1/4 to 3/16 reducer that barely clamped onto an end mill. This 1/4 to 3mm is even worse. It can not even clamp onto the 3mm endmill no matter how tight you lock down the collet nut. The Amana 1/4 to 3mm reducer has a single slot cut on the side but because of the thick wall thickness it can never clamp down onto a 3mm end mill no matter how tight it got the nut. Don't buy this reducer because you will waste your time trying to use it.

I had a wood working project to complete. This item allowed me to finish the project. I would highly recommend this item.
