CollectA Prehistoric Life Daxiatitan Toy Dinosaur Figure - Authentic Hand Painted & Paleontologist Approved Model

CollectA once again surprises the community by introducing a newly described dinosaur for 2015. Daxiatitan binglingi is the first ever representation of this lower Cretaceous titanosaur to CollectA’s popular size category.This figure comes in at an impressive 20cm tall and 28.5cm in length, quite large for the lineup and dwarfs their Argentinosaurus the previous record holder from 2012.The sculpt reflects the family lineage being heavily armored with polygonal scales with large osteoderms along the back giving way to smaller ones along it’s flanks. Skin folds and creases are present throughout and complete the figure quite nicely. The legs and feet are anatomically similar to fossil trackways however, the inclusion of the thumb claw may be premature seeing as titanosaurs may have lacked this. This figure is known from partial evidence yet, related species were used to complete the figure.The painting is done in a brilliant green with black markings. A dark wash accentuates the skin texture and makes the armor stand out. Yellow accents brings everything together marvelously being both imaginative yet, doesn’t stretch plausibility.The figure is posed with the head held high as it walks forward, conveying a stately grace as it strides on, alert, strong, perhaps even regal, from the head, down to a serpentine curve of the tail.Overall, a lovely figure and surely one to make room for on any collector’s shelf.

I'm 84 and this is a very good addition to my collection.

Beautiful color. Very nice for my little collection.It isn't huge but it's a nice size and very high quality. The bumpy skin is amazing. It is durable but I'm not real sure I would give it to a small child because the neck is thin and the head is small. I doubt they could tear it up but they might manage to weaponize it. LOL

My three year old dinosaur lover was thrilled. Sturdy piece and great colors. Very happy and it is a wonderful addition to his collection

This is a nicely made replica although I understand the armor is questionable for this taxon.

Amazing figure! Precision detail!

Why doesn't anybody make 1:40 Cretaceous era sauropods? I would be first in line to buy one! This model is small, much smaller than 1:40. I got it just to have any sauropod on my Cretaceous shelf, even if it has to be a small young juvenile.
