GE WE11M23 Genuine OEM Heating Element Assembly for GE Electric Dryers

Our heater was nearly 20 years old and disintegrated when I took the machine apart to make another repair. This fit perfectly. Our dryer is running like new.

Replaced the heating element. It was an exact replacement for the original, very well packaged. The removal and install was straight forward, partially since I have removed the drum before when I replaced the glides and bearings, just be careful with the wire connectors for the sensors. If you haven't replaced the glides and bearing, it is probably a good idea to do them at the same time.GE Dryer, model: DPSB620EC4WW

I ordered this expecting to use it as a plate. You see, I like to have a large plate so none of my food touches the other. Not even the juices. So, I saw this bad boy and thought, "This is perfect. I just have to take off the coils and do something other things, but it will work." As I was waiting for this to come, my dryer broke. It just so happened that this heating element fit my dryer. I had to do something serious thinking, but in the end, dry and clean smelling clothes trumped having a large plate, so I ended up using this as it was intended. It was pretty simple to replace and now my dryer works like new! As for my plate, I'll just use a trash can lid. New, of course.

Many years back the bearing on the drum went out, replaced it, and went through another. While repairing found heating element had broken, twisted ends together and re-assembled dryer. Only the timed 80 min cycle would work, sensor drying cycles did not. Had a re-string heating element installed and re-assembled the dryer. It worked fine for about 5 minutes as the OLD ceramic insulator broke causing the element to be grounded and burnt the element. In short, after all the attempts to repair, I wish I had bought this assembly, new bearing came with it, no broken heating element or broken insulators, all works great now!! Re-stringing the element was a "B" to begin with, this assembly was easiest, remove old, install and connect wiring and reassemble dryer. All drying cycles work properly now!!

When my dryer quit heating I decided to try this rather than buying a new dryer. The dryer is about 14 years old for just over a $100 for this element and new belt it's with it to me. The install wasn't too bad, I took alot of time cleaning out all the old lint build up and flipped the door hinge. Seems to be working like new and I don't have to adjust to a new dryer and all the settings.

Had unit completely installed. Tested dryer and coil was arcing due to element contact to fixture. Close inspection revealed that the ceramic insulator was not installed properly in the metal bracket by the manufacturer.

I bought my dryer used from a thrift store and it worked great for 3 years. One day I noticed my dryer was not drying clothes. After calling around and receiving outrageous prices for some repair to come replace it, I decided to fix it myself. I did research on the part needed and Amazon had the best price, I found a video on YouTube giving step-by-step instructions. I took my roughly 2 hours to complete, but I did it buy myself (and without breaking a nail...lol). It is a year later and my dryer gets HOT! Dries my clothes in record time and I saved money! It's something satisfying about doing things yourself!!!

Is an exact fit for my older Hotpoint R483 dryer. Just like the one that was in there.
