Is this set made of wood?

No this is not made of wood. It is a very durable plastic material but sort of rubbery-ish. This is perfect for young children who may teeth on the pieces. The egg is just plastic and so are the drumsticks and the tumble bee Maraca.

Why is there a hole in the bottom of bee maraca? Am I missing something?

This was a gift years ago. It does effect how it’s used. My grandchildren loved it.
