Great detail in story format
Frick should be a much better known Captain of Industry. He is much maligned and, as a result, all the great things he did in business and philanthropy have been largely overlooked. One of my all time favorite capitalist from Robber Baron Era. The author, Quentin Skrabec clearly knows his subject matter and the book is well researched. But more importantly, you can tell he has a passion for the subject matter. I very much enjoyed reading the book and recommend it!

but easy to follow and understand
Well written book on a larger than life man. Very detailed, but easy to follow and understand. There were many real life complexities that are explained in the book. Once I started reading it I had difficulty putting it down.

Excellent Read
This is an excellent writing of HC Frick. Many of the stories of him I already knew, however the author has it written with insight from the business side. Additionally, he writes about the impact of politics on Frick and Frick's views on the changing society and industry of his day. I enjoyed this book very much and highly suggest it to anyone that wants to learn more about the business of a Gilded Age capitalist, but about one of out country's most intelligent, powerful men and his contributions to the world.
