Perfect for Arbor Day Tree Seedlings – Easy to Use and Eco-FriendlY
I ordered these nursery bags to start a batch of tree seedlings for Arbor Day, and they worked beautifully. The size was just right for young trees to develop strong root systems, and the breathable fabric allowed for great air circulation and drainage. What really sold me was the biodegradable material—once the seedlings were ready, I could plant the whole bag directly into the ground without disturbing the roots. It made transplanting so much easier and helped reduce transplant shock. I used them for a mix of native saplings (oaks, maples, and dogwoods), and every one of them took to the soil well. These bags are sturdy, easy to fill, and hold up well through watering and sun exposure, the draining is unmatched. Highly recommend for tree planting projects, school events, or anyone participating in Arbor Day activities. Great value for the price and great for the planet!

Great product
These grow bags were just what I needed to extend my garden without buying more raised beds.

A clever inexpensive grow por
I bought the small bags because I want to use them for seeds and rooting cuttings. The bags open easily and once they are filled with soil , they will stand up. I like the fact that once the seeds or cuttings develop roots , you don't have to remove the plant to put the it in the ground as you would with a traditional pot. Since I got these only recently and I live somewhere that has a cold winter, i haven't used them much. But the little I have used them so far i am impressed. These are very inexpensive per unit. In the past, I have used a different product. But when I saw this item , I bought it instead because the price makes this product a really good deal.

Not Biodegradable. Not the Best Choice in Most Cases
REMINDER! These are not biodegradable! This material does not breakdown in any way shape form or fashion. Furthermore, if you all the roots to penetrate the bag, getting the plant loose will be a chore. These are useful though. Nine will fit in a milk crate exactly. If you are in need of a lot of pots for tap rooted plants cheaply, these will do. You must remember to check them regularly and trim any roots poking through promptly. More importantly move them to a proper container as soon as possible. The following picture is of a third season dwarf apple rootstock in a similar grow bag. It was planted as a sprouted seedling, and then field planted in a deep bed for future use. As you can see, the bag is still whole and unaffected by years underground.

It's great, but know what you're using it for
The good - roots can grow right through them. The bad - roots can grow right through them. So what's cool is that when it's time to transplant whatever you put in these into a larger container, you don't need to actually remove the plant and soil - you can just drop these cloth cups directly into the new, larger plant containers, and as far as I can tell, the cups won't interfere with the roots taking outside of them. ***I say "as far as I can tell" because with some of the clones you see pictured, you could see that not all roots started making their way out of the cups - some of them did sort of wind around the inside of the cup wall, as a root normally would in a solid/thicker container. As far as I can tell though, every time I've dropped a cup into a larger container, roots seemed to fairly uniformly make their way out if I'm judging by plant growth alone - I'm not sure of any other way to verify that. But that convenient aspect of the cup's construction is also what means it may not be the best choice for every occasion. If you want to be able to maximize a plant's size in its starter container, this isn't the best choice from you. Using a solid container of an identical size will allow the plant to develop a more robust root system, whereas once the roots start penetrating these cloth cups, they're going to stop growing past a point. At least that's the case with what I'm growing - I can't speak for other types of plants. Be ready to transfer them quickly if you want growth to continue. So just know what the gameplan is if you're considering it, and make sure it's suited to your specific purposes. It's also worth mentioning that these are fairly rugged, despite being thin/porous enough for roots to penetrate. They're not easy to rip, even if you start the opening with a scissor. If you plant to cut these off of the soil/plant inside them, you may want to use scissors for the entire thing. I recommend just dropping them in soil though, since things won't really become root bound in here, and so the soil won't hold together very well once removed from the container.
