A "Standard" at a reasonable price
The Yamaha 4C was invented about the same time Yamaha produced the YAS21 and related lines, around 50 years ago. It was designed to be easy to play for beginners, but also to produce a rich tone. At the time it outperformed all of the mouthpieces being used on their competitor's beginner horns. Some of the competition has caught up, but it's still a great place to start if, say, you're going from Alto to Soprano. Obviously, there are "pro" mouthpieces that will sound better once you've adapted to the instrument, but they cost a lot more, and you won't really know which "pro" mouthpiece you'll need when you're staring out on a new horn. So, very good for what it is. Hopefully it will work well enough for you to stick with the horn until you need a better mouthpiece.

Great for beginners!
If you are new to the sax, you can blind buy a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece. It is easy blowing for beginners. A great starting point. It also produces a nice tone. Highly recommend!

One Of The Standards
You almost have to have a Yamaha 4c and or 5c is every saxaphone case. It may not be the "go to" mouthpiece, but they always work and always can be trusted.

A Great Mouthpiece
I had problems with the Ammoon sax . . . .mainly the reeds . . . .I changed my reeds to Rico . .and I was , then, playing better . . .but there were a few problems . . .I, then, switched reeds to synthetic reeds . . .and I believe that was the problem I'd been having . . .I played smoother . . .and I was hitting all the notes with ease . . . .Then . . .I got the Yamaha 4C mouthpiece . . .and man . . .I'm hitting all my lower notes with ease . . . .No more heavy blowing . . .the added synthetic reed and Yamaha 4C mouthpiece solved the problem . . .My Embouchure needs a little work . . .but I believe an Ammoon sax can play like a pro with the correct mouthpiece and reed . . .

You can’t go wrong with a Yamaha 4c
Purchased this for my backup soprano sax. It plays very well for the price. Excellent for a student or even a pro doubler. You can spend hundreds and find one more suited to your style but these play out of the box. Excellent for the money.

failed to play notes above C6
and although it somewhat has the sound of yamaha it doesn't perform well as the free original mouthpiece of a beginner saxphone
