PNYPro Elite 1TB Portable SSD USB3.1 Gen2 Type-C

I bought this to hook up to my Mac and it does indeed achieve the speeds that it advertises.Just plug it in and it's ready to go.It doesn't run hot unless you are pushing it very hard but it never gets excessive.It is a nice compact size which will take up next to no room in a bag or case and because it is USB powered there are no power cables to lug around.All in all it is a great speedy little 1TB drive which leaves the Samsung T5 way behind.

I bough this to use as the game drive on my Xbox One X and I am glad I did. Games not only load faster but during the games those annoying moments when you are faced with a loading screen (for me it's Far Cry 5) the times are massively reduced.It gets really hot which isn't a concern for me.

This drive is the perfect place for backing up my music just on the off chance that disaster might ever strike. It's simple to set up and no problem to carry around if needed for a business trip.

I like the PNY Elite 500 Gb portable SSD. It's super tiny and extremely fast. It comes with two cables - USB-C to USB a and USB-c to USB-c, which are both rather short in my opinion. I am not sure about the build quality of the drive - for very similar money, you can get the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable (which I also own) which looks much nicer, has superior better build quality and is just as fast. With the PNY, I would be frightened of it getting damaged if I threw it into my rucksack; not so with the SanDisk - for desktop use only, and with a longer cable, the PNY would be my choice for discreetness. Oh and my PNY came with a serial number for Acronis True Image Data Protection software - a nice touch and something I will definitelty give a whirl.

I own the Samsung T5 and have for a while now. I take it everywhere in my wallet due to it's size containing all my important data. It has just been replaced by this! Whilst it may not have all the features of other drives this is slightly cheaper than the T5 and is smaller! I have been getting the same if not very similar performance to my old T5 at a footprint reduction so for me was a no brainer!

Since my small computer is about 5 years old now I feel that it is going to completely die any now. I have about 580 albums stored on there so I'd be raging if I had to rip all those CDs again and arrange the tracks to my preferred order all over again. With this little storage drive, smaller than the average credit card, I have peace of mind that if my computer does go kaput (kaputer?) then all of my tunes are backed-up. I'd have to get at least 1TB to backup my photos, but at least I know my music is safe. Set up is simple plug-and-play and it comes with two connecting USB cables. Transfer time for about 52GB of music was around 1 hour and 10 minutes.

I have the 250GB SSD so it's not huge for today's standards, but for the size and considering it is an SSD, I am really surprised at the size of it, it's similar in width and length to a credit card so it is quite portable and easy to carry.The best feature is that it has a USB C connection so it can transfer speeds quickly on new laptops and phones which support it. I was able to connect it to my Samsung Galaxy S9+ and it was recognised as a storage device immediately.I found that transferring 25GB of videos took around 20 minutes, which isn't amazing but it's quite good considering the price point.I can't fault it in any ways.

This portable SSD is small and light weight. I was really surprised at its size when I received it. Its not much bigger than one of the old compact flash cards. Its not the greatest capacity by todays standards but I it does have speed on its side.I have found reading and writing to the SSD is fast. The drive is ideal of you travel and want to back up data quickly. I use it for backing up my DSLR photographs. Write speeds over USB 3 have been consistently faster compared to my regular 2.5 inch hard drives and reading the data later has also been impressive when I have worked on the pictures in Adobe Photoshop.What I like about this storage device is its size. It takes up very little room and has a very small footprint for 250GB worth of capacity. Its more reliable than a memory card or a memory stick in my opinion so makes an ideal travel companion. The TYPE C connection is also good and it should be compatible with the new Apple Macs or devices that support this standard.

This is the one you want. I've had numerous PNY flash storage devices, and they've never failed me. Their storage is fast, and this device is no exception. Really fast. It can get fairly warm to the touch (not hot). Use as Time Machine backups for MacOS, and it works like a champ. PNY is very competitively priced, and they continue to earn my business.
