A great second monitor for travel
I'm an instructional designer and 3D jewelry artist, and I literally dreamed of having a second monitor for traveling. I had originally purchased my top-of-the-line MacBook Pro to make instructional ZBrush CAD videos, but the fan runs constantly and it's picked up on any external microphone. My idea to place my MacBook off the table and record from an external monitor seemed to be the right solution. I also found that the Retina display on the Mac causes Camtasia to record video at a much higher resolution that has to be downsampled, making the software interface blurry. I needed to record at a native 1920x1080 resolution. Unboxing was very "Apple-y." If you've ever bought an Apple product, the heavyweight box, the packaging reinforces that you've just bought something special. They include a nice instruction book that's got lots of pictures...sometimes when you buy something from a manufacturer in the Far East, the instructions are not well-written. Lepow's instruction manual feels familiar and is nicely done...it's very clear. Anyway, this portable monitor does the trick. I bought it on a whim for Black Friday because the price was in my budget, but even at full price it's a nice monitor. If I'd seen it before buying, I would have paid full price, but taking a chance on a new product and company I'm not familiar with, the price was worth taking a chance on. I also see that Amazon may have a coupon...look for that as well. I also LOVE that it's powered by the USB-C port on my MacBook Pro and doesn't require a power cord to run from the USB-C port, although I finally read the instructions, and they suggest plugging it in...if you don't, the monitor comes up not at full brightness, but at least on a MBP with USB-C, it does work. The folding cover makes it feel like I'm carrying a large iPad, and it seems to protect it well. The only thing that I'd like to see changed is the "roll" button for changing the settings. I cannot figure out how to jump from the main menu to the individual setting items...I've tried, but still trying to figure it out...there's got to be a trick that I'm missing. There is a left column of main settings, and it says to press the roll key to activate the menu, scroll the roll key up and down to choose a setting, then press the roll key to confirm. There needs to be a little more information about this in the little book, about how to change columns. I was WAY overcomplicating the stand, too. I was trying to fold it like an iPad...and I was overthinking it. It's attached magnetically to the back of the monitor, folded in an "L" configuration (kind of like a Lexus logo...), then the monitor sets in one of two grooves for two different viewing positions. Also, be aware that the two USB-C ports are not the same. One is a full-functioning USB-C port (on the left), and the one on the right is for power only. When I connect my MacBook Pro to the left USB-C port only, and the MBP is plugged in, it works just fine without external power. That is my experience with the MBP, so I don't know if that applies to a PC notebook. It comes with all of the cords that you'll need to connect, including a USB-C cable, HDMI cable, and a power source cable. If you were on your way to a hotel or conference and decided to have this delivered, you won't be searching around for a Best Buy at closing time to find cables. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this monitor...it's already making my life easier! I'd say if you're on the fence, give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. It's got a generous viewing area and the portability is perfect.

Portable Travel Monitor - Sharp, portable, and simple
I usually use a three monitor setup at my office, but picked this up for a second monitor to keep in my go bag to set up when working at a customer site. I wanted a screen that was light, sharp and clear, and easy to set up, and picked this up to try. The screen is sharp and clear. 1080p on a 15" screen is the same pixel density as my laptop. Works fine in either portrait or landscape, no autodetecting so you have to change it in the OS if you want to rotate it. Had a detection issue initially (defaulted to 640x480), but it has been at 1080p since. Good viewing angles, colors stay consistent even viewed quite off center, it claims to be IPS and looks the part. 14.5" wide by 9" tall and 1/2" thick with the case on. Weight is about 2.5lbs also with the case - which you need, as it is the stand as well, but the case is just under 1lb of that. Compares very well to trying to carry a full size monitor. The case is a protective full wraparound, magnetically held in place front and back when on, it is pretty secure from falling off completely, but does not provide any bottom cushioning when vertical in portrait orientation in a bag, so keep that in mind. My laptop bag has some cushioning under the inner, should be fine there. As a stand, the case does a good job as long as you set it up on a flat surface and have the case on the right way - one side is the inside and is softer, greyish, and grippier, and the other is more black and slick, and if you put it on backwards it looks like it is attached but doesn't work well at all. Confused me for a bit the first time I took the case off and put it back on wrong. Otherwise it is a fairly standard magnetic tablet case / stand. It is ONLY attached by magnets though, so pretty easy to disconnect unintentionally if you are twisting it at all while moving it in the stand position. Connectivity is primarily USB-C. It has two ports, one is power only, the other is signal or both signal and power. My Latitude E5570 can provide power over the Thunderbolt / USB-C connector using the same cable as the video signal. So just the USB-C to C connector in the bag and quick to connect / disconnect is perfect. The micro HDMI cable and separate power supply and USB A-C cable for power will be useful a few times a year when traveling for fun and I want to bring this with the xbox - but that won't be a primary use, and holding a controller while staying at the right distance for this to be functional would not be perfect. It has a speaker. Volume and quality compare poorly to my laptop speakers, this is more of a checkbox feature. I have no plans to use them. It also comes with a plastic screen protector ready to install. At this size it is nearly impossible to get one of those on without bubbles, and I tried but was unsuccessful in avoiding those. But I don't see any real need for it anyway - the case protects it for travel, and this isn't a touchscreen to carry around, no matter how tablet like it looks. Overall, it is meeting my need for a travel monitor quite well. We'll see how TSA treats it the next time I hit the air, and how it holds up over time, but this is very good and quite affordable for what I needed today. Only issue is I keep trying to treat it like a touch screen, which it is not, but I'll get used to that in time.

This is a good buy if it's what you're looking fo
I've lost out on trying to buy portable monitors on the campaign sites. Through the past six months I've been watching and have a great slide out portable that attaches by magnets that I love. Still, working from home I wanted something larger that I could use anywhere around the house. I'm tired of being shut up in a single room. After seeing an promo on a tech sight, reading the reviews and measuring the price I bought this monitor. It came today and am really happy with it. Stylish for the size, nice picture (for general work) and could easily move back and forth between my personal machine and work laptop. If you are looking for a decently priced quality portable monitor for business work or home entertainment this is a solid choice. It's light but sturdy with well designed controls and was totally plug and play for me. I connected a Dell laptop using USB3 and HP laptop with the HDMI cable. Both discovered and displayed right away and I can switch between fairly easily with the monitors settings control. I swapped between the two throughout the day and without any issues and very satisfied with the picture quality. Things to note: The "smart" stand took a minute to figure out as the instructions are pretty weak. The picture doesn't have the quality for digital imaging for me. If you want to demo photos yes, if you want to edit not so much. That also depends on what outcome you want. I think I would have loved this monitor when I first started digital photography.

The screen resolution is good. So far using it as a external monitor thru HDMI. No success in using it thru usb-c connection. Maybe because i am using older model of laptop. So far it do perform well to my needs

The USB-C cable does not work on this. If that is what you bought it for- to connect to a Mac etc. then DO NOT buy this product. The HDMI Cable is fault and i've spent money buying multiple HDMI/USB-C cables to see if it would work. That did not happen. The customer service is terrible- i have been going back and forth, spending hours on the phone line to receive some sort of technical help or replacement, or anything to make this better as it was an expensive purchase. Wish I had returned it within the first two weeks. the problems start to occur only a week or two after the purchase and it only gets worse from there. if your setup is not perfect, move it slightly then you will lose connectivity. This product has been more of a burden then help and don't have the funds currently to purchase something different and would not sell this to someone else to deal with this problem

Very useful and nice. Met my expectations. I connect to my laptop with C type cable and I don’t even need to power the screen. My friend ordered same also. Package and everything was great. Very helpful during traveling and meetings.
