Tiger rice cookers are so good I purchased a second one.
I had my previous tiger rice cooker for 16 years before the rice bowl rusted through and that was totally my fault. That is why I purchased another tiger this time. I love it. It makes great rice. My only complaint is that after 24 hours on warm it overlooks the center ti mush. I usually keep some on had most weeks for a couple of days eating from the machine. My previous machine didn't do that. Dry out yes but not make center mush. I may need to play with it more. It is worth every penny despite the higher price tag. Thr non stick rice bowl goes right into the dishwasher.

Great rice cooker
The rice cooker is very efficient. I had one before and I gave it to my son so this is my third one. I like the tiger brand you cannot go wrong with it.

Pretty solid overall
Pretty solid, easy to use and lots of functions, haven't explored alot but no issues with the keep warm function like on some other models where it turns off or stops working after an hour or two.

Tiger JAX-T10U vs Zojirushi NS-TSC10
When I got it (Feb 6, 2016), it was $150 vs $145 or so for NS-TSC10.Well, it was a tough choice, but after comparing all the features and reading online manuals for both cookers I have settled on the Tiger and am still very pleased. My personal Pros for the Tiger JAX that are missing in NS-TSC10 (in no particular order):- Slow cook mode. It's a very nice feature allowing us to do some random dishes like omelets and 1-minute oatmeals (10 minutes, actually).- Neutral silvery-steel color (NS-TSC10 has a very brown shade).- About twice as fast in the "Quick" mode as NS-TSC10.- It's made in Japan (NS-TSC10 is made in China).- The Tiger has adjustable cooking time and NS-TSC10 does not. This is another big pro.- Porridge mode has adjustable time.Tiger's cons:- Non-retractable power cord.- The pot does not have plastic handles (NS-TSC10 does not have them too).- No baking mode (I wonder whether slow-cooking mode will do the baking). It's two weeks of ownership and we are happy with this purchase so far.Because of timers' adjustability, we can and do a number of other grains like pearl barley, steel-cut oats, regular 1-minute oats, buckwheat, etc.--------------------------Edit on 4/14/2016:No, the slow cook mode can't bake.I tried it today with chocolate cake batter and the cooker switches itself from cooking mode to warming mode in about five minutes. In the end, I used our electric waffle maker to dispose of the slightly warm batter. My kids have approved the result :)--------------------------Edit on 2/23/2018:My Tiger JAX still works great after two years at 2-3 uses per week.--------------------------Edit on 6/15/2020:My Tiger JAX still works great after four years at 2-3 uses per week.--------------------------Edit on 8/8/2021:My Tiger JAX still works great after four years at 2-3 uses per week.--------------------------Edit on 1/26/2024:We scratched and bent the pot a bit, but the Tiger still works just fine :)

A "change your life" product
My son talked me into buying this by saying "it will change your life" mom. His wife is Asian and he said her whole extended family each own one of these. The rice comes out better than cooking on the stove, is easier, quicker and the "keep warm" setting keeps the rice fluffy for two days. We also steam vegetables in the top section at the same time. The rice is perfect every time and so now I have no pots to clean. Cleaning this is a breeze.s IT DID CHANGE MY LIFE!!!! Everyone who likes rice should own one of these.

so samll for 5.5 cup rice cooker.
I have been using Zojirushi 5.5cup cooker, but the price was good, also Tiger is also very famous brand in japan. so I wanted to try This "Tiger" rice cooker. it was very small and light weight compare with Zojirushi 5.5cup cooker. I mean the "light weight" means it looks so cheap like toy. start cooking sound and cooked sounds also very simple. not like melody that Zojirushi has.so I decided to return.after that, I went to Costco, and saw similar Tiger 5.5cup rice cooker, but it was more heavy weight which it supposed to be, and looks more nicer. I feel like what I got was a Chinese product??
