Hubbell HBL5266C Plug, 15 amp, 125V, 5-15P, Black/White

I chose this product due to its US manufacture. The plug is sturdy and easy to assemble. Unlike other designs, this one does not create awkward bends.I have included a picture of the corresponding female plug (HBL5269C) because it features strip specifications (15/16” for the cord jacket, and 9/16” for the conductors).The screws are color coded: brass for the usually black phase/line/hot conductor, silver for the white neutral wire, and green for green or bare copper ground/earth.I used the male and female Hubbell plugs to repair a nice 12-gauge extension cord I hit with a lawnmower.

Good product high quality

Excellent plug.Screw heads are of a metal alloy a bit soft for my liking, but otherwise still very good quality overall. The built-in 2 position clamp is handy, stays flush.Remember to scooch the outer jacket in under the clamp twice, before you tighten the jacket clamp screws down. It's difficult to strip the wires and insert them under the terminal screw clamps, without a bit of working room, so this trick compensates for that.I miss the longer barrel plugs.

I had a couple of the Hubbell female plugs left over from the day when I owned a quarry 1992 and needed the male plugs. So 30 years later and Hubbell still makes the same plug. Good price, great service. Cord assembled and it works as it should.

It is a Hubbell connector - it's the best. It looks & feels top quality.

Don't settle for newer designs, this is the best commercial grade plug around for non waterproof applications IMHO.They outlive the products they're connected to so you'll have them for life.

Hubbel makes good plugs and receptacles. The clamp on this one is a bit strange. It has a fitting that you rotate to adjust the clamp height/diameter. Didn't seem terribly robust. The clamp side of it doesn't have much of a radius. It almost seems that this plug was intended to clamp onto Romex. I was assembling a 10/3 AWG SOOW extension cord. So, I had to trim down the strands a bit to get them to fit into the anchor holes. I also had to machine quite a bit off of the clamp.Bottom line, it may be a bit tricky you're using this plug/receptacle on heavier stuff.It might require a little modification to securely mount.
