These make working on my hot pit, whether on my charcoal or pellet cookers, an absolute breeze. Particularly on my WSM, where there's a lower grate you can't access without lifting out the top grate, they are a godsend. Very much worth the price and should be in every barbecue person's toolkit. Update: Months of work later, I'm tempted to knock these a star because they get pretty gross if you touch anything and they're tough to wash. I also wish they were thinner, even at the cost of some heat resistance, so I could put nitrile gloves over them. Still, they're great for what they do.

great for working on grill. does shield from heat and fire. sicilcone gloves are good too, but too rigid and you lose a lot of dexterity and mobility. these maintain both and provide equal amount of protection. use it ALL THE TIME during the summer and as held up well. a definite must if you grill and are a bbq master. pro - price, protects, maintain mobility and dexterity con - will have to replace, fraying around edges and pretty dirty after 1 years use. my fault

Works as advertised. I got 2 for homebrewing, as I often have to lift hot pots and be near flames and got tired of always having to run in the house and find a potholder at the worst possible time. I was able to pick up very hot metal with these and not feel a thing. Only complaint is the cut of them. They're designed I guess to be for either hand, but in the end they sit awkwardly on your hand. It doesn't really impact their usability, but when you put them on they just don't feel exactly right.

My old gloves wore out after 10 years and I searched high and low and could not find a suitable replacement. Then I found these. I thought they were a little pricey but considering they could last several years I was okay with rolling the dice and ordering sight unseen. Bottom line is these are perfect in every way. The length (not too long), the fit, the comfort, and yes even the look is good. Other heat resistant gloves have silly graphics on them like BBQ's and flames, these are classy and straightforward. I am super happy I got them. The quality is very high on this product. Did I mention I am happy I bought them? On a side note, customer service from this seller was excellent in every way. USPS lost my first shipment. This seller immediately sent new gloves to me the very same day I put in my request. Excellent! I got them in just a few days and I was good to go. The only gripe is I had to wait what seemed like an interminable amount of time for Amazon to unlock the opportunity to request a re-ship, but other than that, this is an excellent buy and I use them every single day during the winter, multiple times per day.

I believe the glove (this is one glove, not a pair) is well made (construction and material) but during the production process the quality was sub-par. I bought three (3) gloves and all of the gloves varied in size. My hands are on the larger side of medium. The glove fit more on the tight side. But 2 of 3 fit poorly. If you're a big person or handed, it's my estimation that these gloves will be tight fits. One had the full length as advertised, the others were about 1" shorter in length. The pointer finger in one was tight as was the hand fit in another. With that being said, we had user error with one glove and I give good marks to the glove. When friend decided to test glove he stuck one gloved hand above a fire and forget it there. He soon remembered when his hand warmed up. After much chiding & ribbing, we inspected the glove to only find some discoloration of the outer black fabric material but no further damage. Still a usable glove. It does provide great protection from flame, satisfactory protection from heat, but for my caution to others - be careful, this will not protect from steam or liquid. This is a fabric glove, not a leather, rubber or plastic material. Have not attempted to wash - so no data on extended use after washing. Now, if G&F can get there quality control down on these size variances - this could be a 5-star product.

I bought this glove because the top handle of my charcoal grill would hurt to touch when lifting the lid off. It works great for that purpose, I don't feel any heat when lifting the lid. I was also able to use it to pick up a vegetable grilling pan right off the grill and dump the vegetables instead of having to pick them up with tongs. After about 30 seconds I was starting to feel the heat off the pan through the glove, but it worked well for that purpose. It's also been great for moving lit fire logs around in a campfire. The glove it pretty long and covers up to my forearm, the ability to use it on either hand is also a great feature.

I LOVE my fire glove. I have a wood stove and one day, I looked down to see that I had six different fresh burns on the top of my thumb, sort of where it meets the wrist. I couldn't continue to mutilate my hand that way from touching the stove by accident. I bought this lovely fire glove and haven't been burned since. You can arrange the log where you want it, amidst the hot coals and open flames and not feel a thing! It's amazing. Of course, don't hold your hand in there for any length of time (lol) but for a few seconds in that fire, you won't get hurt and if your hand touches the sides of the stove, no problem. LOVE this!

UPDATE (March 2015): I happened to look back on my original review and I saw that the photo of these gloves has changed. The pair I received were made of black and red suede. The current photo shows an all black glove of some kind of knitted material with what appear to be plastic appliques. Therefore, my review may no longer apply to this current product. I was looking for something to use with my propane grill that would allow me to remove various cooking utensils (mostly skewers and my fish-grilling basket) from the grilltop with more dexterity than the usual oven mitt. The gloves I received were handsome looking and very comfortable, but were nearly useless In terms of heat resistance. If I gripped a hot skewer for the 5-10 seconds required to remove meat or vegetables from it, my hand became very uncomfortable and I had to shift the skewer from one hand to the other. After just three uses, the fingertips of both gloves partially melted, showing the imprints of the round skewer heads on them. I have cotton oven mitts that are more heat resistant than these gloves, which was a shame because the gloves were very reasonably priced and seemed nicely constructed. Based on my experience, I could not recommend the gloves I received for use with a barbecue grill. Older and newer reviews of this same product have been favorable. My guess is that that product has been changed numerous times over the years, resulting in widely varying quality.
