Has stood the test of time
I've been using this for my office chair every day for 3 years now and it still basically seems "like new". Great durability, feels great scooting the chair back and forth. Even though it has nubs on the bottom to prevent slipping, it does still slip over time, but it's not a big deal, every once in a while I just move the chair off, move it back, and start over. No visible damage to the carpet underneath. As others have mentioned, be VERY careful unwrapping it, like you might even want to do some kind of wrestler pin-down to keep it from snapping you in the face. Unroll it slowly while keeping it contained.

Sturdy and solid surface on carpet
My polycarb mat arrived rolled up under a lot of tension. It did NOT ship flat, which is what I was expecting. I thought maybe I had ordered the wrong thing. But once I VERY carefully (with 3 people) released the tension and unrolled it I found I had the right product. I have thick carpet. This does still move around a tiny bit on the carpet but no where near as bad as the vinyl mat I had before. My chair no longer creates dips in the mat surface. The mat is rigid and creates a solid level surface to roll on. Problem solved!

Goldilocks found this one just right
I tried two other chair floor mats before this one. The first was too hard and brittle, and it cracked under my weight in many places until it was ready to fall apart. The second one was too soft, so the chair wheels sank into it when I sat, making it very difficult to roll the chair around on the mat. Finally, this third one was JUST RIGHT: no cracks, no sinking wheels. I am 5'7" and weigh 130 pounds.Cheers for Amazon Basics!

You get what you pay for! Way better than anything else I've tried!
The media could not be loaded. After going through cheaper chair mats every few months from local stores, I started looking for a higher quality option. There weren't any locally, but this one on Amazon had great reviews. Many people mentioned that it is worth the extra money and they were right! This one doesn't crack or bend much under my weight (I'm a big guy). It glides smoothly and it is larger than anything else I had seen, so I'm able to wheel around to other parts of my home office space more easily now. Plus, this is very clear and doesn't break up the look of the nice new carpet we had installed last year in our home (previous ones I tried included solid color options). Highly recommend! It will save me money in the long run and I'll enjoy it more in the meantime too.

Fairly happy
It travels some and has quite sharp edges but does the job.

Thick, durable, sturdy, what more could you want?
I've been setting up my home office space during the Pandemic, and one of the only parts missing was a nice chair mat so I don't have to struggle / destroy the carpet with my chair. I tried shopping around locally at places like Staples or Office Depot, but they carry very little in store, and advised me to go online to check out their full selection- I guess they just take up too much floor space? (Hah).I shopped around a bit online to see what type I should get, what I should avoid, etc. My carpet is right on the edge of being a medium pile, so I shopped around for appropriate mats (which this is). A LOT of people seem to complain about their chair mats being too flimsy and not being study enough: that they would curl on the edges when you get on them and they'd eventually crack. You don't have to worry about any of that with this mat. It's THICC!I ordered two, and they arrive flat in a large, yet very thin shipping box. In my case, the box they came in wasn't really assembled... normally you buy a flat box and put it together so it's a cube. My box never made it to the cube stage- the whole thing was just held together by several long strips of tape that held the edges closed so the mat didn't just fall right out. This type of shipping does have an advantage though: you don't have to worry about your mat showing up warped and curled from being rolled up for who knows how long. These come flat, and they stay flat. I cut open one of the strips of tape and lifted the mat out. It was very sturdy, and it was kind of hard carrying this thing up the steps because all that plastic can get heavy- especially when one side is trying to stab you.I put it on my floor, and it just flopped into place. Rolled my chair right in the middle, and sat down (6"3', about 200lbs). The edges didn't move at all. Even if I roll up onto the "lip", which I have to in order to sit properly at my desk, there are no issues with anything lifting up off the carpet or curling. I also don't think there will be any issues with cracking, but I'll keep this updated. There is one issue though: now I have to get used to having a chair mat down. More than once, I've sent myself flying across the room because I haven't gotten used to the fact that I'm on plastic now, and my chair can roll MUCH EASIER than I'm used to when it was on the carpet. I'll put that down to user error though.

Very firm. the chair moves around very easily. Durability we shall see .
The only fault I can find with this product is that the plastic nubs on the bottom could be a little longer and more pointed, the mat tends to side backwards after a while

Flat bliss!
I see it for the traditional carpeted floor. I was skeptical at first and wondered if I should have got one with deeper insertions but this is just perfect. It has been over a week since I bought.. the May hasn’t moved even an inch.Quick Advice: make sure you strongly restrain the roll when setting up or have someone to help you to avoid scratching the mat. Though, this was clearly mentioned, I thought I could pull it off and ended up scratching it.. don’t really care a lot about it.. it’s on the floor and I roll over it all the time 🤷♂️

Bueno
Es bueno si ayuda en definitiva pero con el uso si me mueve de su lugar un poco, nada que no se pueda solucionar

Much better than PVC mats
I got this one as a replacement to Cleartex Advantagemat Chair Mat for Carpets, Clear PVC, Rectangular with Lip, 36" x 48" (FR119225LV), which is much cheaper but also close to useless on residential carpets. Here are some similarities and differences between the two.Similarities:- Both mats are actually made by the same company (Floortex).- Both have cleats only about 1/8" in height, even though the PVC one is for low pile carpet, while this one is for thick carpet. It would be nice if they have 3/4" to 1/2" cleats, but on this mat it's not as big a problem, more on that later.- Both have somewhat sharp edges that could have been rounded at the factory but now I have to do it myself.Differences:- Materials are different (duh). The PVC one is softer and develops dents and divots from just putting a chair on it without even sitting in the chair. This one is polycarbonate which is much stiffer and dips only slightly after I sat down in my chair on the mat.- Since PVC is more flexible it is shipped rolled up in a box, and it never fully flattens out even after I followed their instructions by putting weights on the corners and in the centre, and left it at room temperature (22 degrees C) for almost two weeks; there are areas that just won't cooperate and curl back up after the weights are removed. This polycarbonate mat ships flat and can be used right away, absolutely zero hassle.- Because the PVC mat never fully flattens out, it does not have sufficient contact with the carpet and combined with the tiny 1/8" cleats, I have to adjust the mat every day. On this polycarbonate mat, even though the cleats are also just 1/8" high, because the whole mat is flat and touches the carpet, that seems to provide enough grip, and it doesn't appear to be shifting as much throughout the day compared to the PVC one.So you do get what you pay for. While a PVC mat costs only about 1/3 of a polycarbonate mat, for me the amount of trouble I have had the extra cost of a polycarbonate mat is justifiable.

Office Chair mat on thick pile carpet : Backing spikes TOO SHORT
Received the mat today rolled up and packaged in a rectangular cardboard box. Delivery is as promised, timely.Having read about warnings by previous buyers, I laid the item across a sufficient clear floor space large enough to accommodate the mat size when unfurled. The item is secured by some tough plastic sheet in the middle. With a sharp knife and standing well clear of the roll at one end, I reached across to cut the securing tape. As expected, the mat unrolled in an instant into a full sheet. Quite scary!. To prevent shifting, I placed a corner of the mat under a stool leg. BUT, I am very surprise by the puny spikes in the backing. They are a mere 1/8" at most! Except perhaps for the material stiffness, and maybe thickness, I can't see how they are different from from the ordinary/normal ones sold in Staples. I scanned all the types available on Amazon for very thick pile carpet, and read all the product reviews. This type seemed to be well favored. BUT I have expected it to come with spikes a lot longer , for thick pile carpet! Not 1/4"!. No wonder the mat will shift if it is not "held down" in some part. Or have I received the wrong product?
