Lovin the LUNA! 🦋
I'm 55 yrs old and within the past six months or so, the skin on my face just started going south, almost out of nowhere and was really starting to feel down about it because all my life, I had great skin. Never had a problem with pimples, not even in my teens. But all of a sudden, I started breaking out with pimples, getting rashes & dark spots and this crazy dry skin. It was horrible and I looked a complete mess! One day, my grandson told me that I looked like something out of a horror movie. I couldn't believe he said that, but it was true 😆 I began trying several different creams and serums, the less expensive ones, but none of those helped and usually caused my skin to sting and burn. Saw some great reviews from other women in my age group/older, about these three products listed below and started using them everyday, twice a day. t's only been about 3-4 weeks so far but when I tell you it worked wonders, IT WORKED WONDERS!! My skin looks better than it did before all of this happened. Earlier today, as I walked past a mirror, I had to stop and do a double take because of how nice my skin looked. Kid you not! My skin's elasticity and appearance has improved drastically! It's clear, smooth and firm again. I'm extremely impressed with these products and they'll be part of my daily skincare routine going forward. Only time will tell if they truly last, so we shall see and I'll give an update if they don't. These are my 3 Go To's, pricey but worth it for me 👇🏾 Morning Routine: LA Roche-Posay Retinol Redermic Anti-Aging Treatment, along with Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Tumeric Face Oil Evening Routine, (after cleansing): LA Roche-Posay Retinol Redermic Anti-Aging Treatment, along with Sunday Riley LUNA Sleeping Night Oil In my opinion, the LA Roche-Posay Retinol Redermic Anti-Aging Treatment, is the star of the show and the two serums enhances it, taking it to another level! Also, if you have dry skin, this cleanser works great and it's soap-free: LA Roche-Posay Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash

A couple cons, but worth 5 stars for efficacy
I took these pictures 12hrs apart (just iPhone camera, no filter) after using Luna overnight for the first time. It might not look like a huge improvement, but oh my gosh, to me it was like day & night. I continue to be impressed looking in the mirror each morning, seeing gradual-yet-noticable improvement in my finicky combination skin. She’s got a couple flaws (don’t we all), but overall, Luna’s efficacy & heavy-lifting is worth five stars. I haven’t broken out this badly since starting treatment for PCOS years ago, but I should clarify that it’s not Luna’s fault. The acne visible in the pics popped up during my first month on 1% retinol. Although breakouts always suck, I was prepared for it knowing this (“purging”) is normal when starting a retinol product, and it’s temporary. I started using Luna at the tail-end of the breakout, and have found her to be very helpful for rapidly calming & fading the remaining acne scarring, inflammation, and hyperpigmentation, as well as boosting the effects of stronger retinoids. ⚠️ Combining retinoids is not recommended unless your skin is acclimated to retinol, or you’ve asked a derm. I mix about 3 drops of this oil into a pea-sized blob of 1% retinol cream/serum (I cycle through a couple of comparable versions available at Sephora) and spend about 1–2min rubbing it into my face until the teal color is mostly gone. After allowing it to absorb for about five minutes, I follow with my nighttime moisturizer (while Luna shouldn’t cause dryness, it isn’t hydrating enough on its own to replace cream. It can instead be used before, after, or combined with cream). Even though Luna is not as strong as other OTC retinoids, sunscreen is still necessary during the day. It could use a little improvement, though: 1. Blue tansy is not naturally as dark & bright as this oil is. Two artificial colors are noted in the ingredients list: Ci 61565 (Green 6), Ci 60725 (Violet 2). Although Sunday Riley states that the oil “goes from blue to clear when massaged into the skin,” it definitely leaves my ultra-pale skin with a teal sheen. Thankfully it’s only for nighttime use, and it doesn’t appear to transfer onto my pillowcase. But, it still seems really unnecessary to add colorant to a skincare product already colored by blue tansy & chamomile. 2. I assume that fragrance was added (via several highly-scented essential oils that don’t benefit the skin) in attempt to cancel out the naturally-herby scent of the working ingredients. The effect is a moderately unpleasant clash of what I can only describe as “Medicinal Seed Oils and Talcum Powder.” I have a pretty sensitive nose (some fragrances can trigger migraines), but Luna’s smell dissipates pretty quickly after putting it on, so it’s not a big deal. Again, though, it seems so unnecessary to add fragrance to a naturally-fragrant product. 3. There’s also a lack of clarity about how much retinol Luna actually contains. Apart from those things, though, they also get a lot of things very right: - I personally prefer a more substantial-feeling facial oil vs the ultra-light feel of Luna. But that’s a me-problem. All of the oils in Luna fall at or below a 3/5 on the comedogenic scale, meaning it’s unlikely to cause or worsen acne (compared to thicker oils like Marula or Coconut, which are both 4/5). - The middle 1oz bottle should last awhile, considering 2-5 drops is more than enough to cover a whole face. If you’re not planning on using it every night, it’s best to get the smallest bottle since it has a shelf life of about 8 months (after opening). - The retinoid content is low enough to be very gentle. As with any retinol, use it once and wait a few days to make sure your skin doesn’t react poorly. If it’s fine, work your way up to every other night over a few weeks. If you don’t have any negative reactions, it can be used nightly. It’s unlikely Luna will cause a retinol purge (sensitivity or breakout), but keep an eye out nonetheless. - Blue tansy is highly lauded for it’s acne-fighting abilities, and hard to find in products, making Luna nearly unique in this area. There isn’t really anything else to compare Luna to when it comes to blue tansy + retinol oil (basically a skincare dream combo). Remember that not every skincare product will work the same with every skin, but on paper, Luna *should* make a great addition to almost anyone’s routine.

Nighttime glow in a bottle!
This Luna oil is a dream! It’s lightweight, silky, and melts right into my skin at night. I wake up with softer, smoother skin and a serious glow without any irritation. The blue tint disappears instantly, and the scent is herbal, not overpowering. A little goes a long way—highly recommend if you want an effortless radiant boost while you sleep!

Transformative Nighttime Skincare - Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Face Oil Review
The Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Anti Aging Night Face Oil has become a transformative addition to my nighttime skincare routine, offering notable benefits for my skin's texture and overall appearance. The formula's inclusion of retinol, a well-known powerhouse ingredient for addressing signs of aging, is a significant highlight. Over time, I've noticed a visible improvement in fine lines and skin firmness. The retinol works diligently to promote cellular turnover and collagen production, contributing to a more youthful complexion. The lightweight oil texture is easy to apply and absorbs relatively quickly into the skin. Despite being a retinol product, I've experienced minimal irritation or redness, which can sometimes accompany retinoid-based treatments. This gentleness is particularly appealing for those with sensitive or reactive skin. The addition of other botanical oils and extracts lends a soothing and nourishing element to the product. My skin feels hydrated and plump after application, and I've observed a reduction in the appearance of dry patches and uneven texture. One aspect that could be improved is the scent of the product. While it isn't overpowering, the earthy scent may take some getting used to for those who are sensitive to fragrance in skincare products. Additionally, I recommend using this product as part of an evening skincare routine, as the retinol content can increase sensitivity to sunlight. Pairing it with a daytime sunscreen is essential to protect the skin from potential sun damage. In summary, the Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Anti Aging Night Face Oil is a commendable product for addressing signs of aging and promoting skin renewal. Its gentle yet effective formula, combined with the hydrating benefits of botanical oils, makes it a valuable addition to any skincare regimen. While the scent and sun sensitivity considerations are worth noting, the positive results I've experienced make it deserving of a four-star rating. For those seeking a retinol treatment that delivers results without compromising skin health, this product is definitely worth considering.

My sensitive skin LOVES this product!
I have fair, dry, sensitive skin - along with pustular rosacea. I am VERY careful with everything I put on my skin, hair and face. I have my day routine and products locked in - but I was struggling to find products for my nighttime routine. I just turned 50 and have been struggling with how to use and which retinol to use with my rosacea. I read some great reviews about the Luna Night Oil - and although I was a little skeptical due to the color and the fragrance- (two things my skin does not normally like) I decided to give it a shot. I use topical ivermectin on my face every night for my rosacea and I let that fully absorb- about 30 minutes. Then I apply the Luna Oil - a little goes a long way - about 3-4 drops for my face and neck. The color vanishes as the oil is absorbed and the scent - which is not unpleasant - dissipates quickly. I feel like my skin smiles and thanks me when I apply this! In the colder drier months I do apply a moisturizer on top of the oil after I have given it a little time to adsorb. My skin has NEVER looked or felt this good. Bright, glowy, smooth, and the fine lines and wrinkles are looking smoother and softer. And NOT a single ROSACEA outbreak. Of course I wish that this was a little more financially friendly - but a little goes a long way and I am so happy with this product that I know I will be purchasing it over and over.
