Does this fit a kid kraft train or is it the smaller scale?

I am not familiar with kid kraft train but it does fit the wooden Ikea train tracks. Hope this helps!

Does the crain have a crank to make the line on holding the magnet move up and down? or does it move up and down only becuase the hing on boom moves?

NO, there is no crank on Rocky that makes the boom go up and down. It has 2 positions that you manually use, up and down. The "line" between the magnet and the boom on the Fisher-Price model is a solid rod. The "line" on the original model by Learning Curve has a flexible cord between the magnet and the boom. BE CAREFUL, if you are going to look for the Learning Curve model, reconfirm with the seller that it IS the model with a flexible line, the Learning Curve model. Some Sellers advertise that model, BUT will send you the Fisher-Price model; BAIT AND SWITCH, as well as they will charge you more money than you can get the Fisher-Price model from other sellers!!
