Good tool to drive small brads manually.

Great tool
Before getting this tool I kind of imagine that this was like a spring-loaded punch type of tool that drove in the Brad nail from the repercussion of the spring. But that's not how this tool works. There is a spring. But this tool is really just a way to hold the Brad nail stiff. Depending on what you're driving the nail into, meaning if the wood or pvc is soft, then in many cases you can use the driver tool to push in the nail if you have leverage using strength alone. If you don't have leverage I recommend hammering, a soft mallet against the end of the driver. I've used the tool to fasten baseboards, quarter round, and other trim to walls and such. I've also used the tool to drive in brad nails partially so that I can have good places to hang decorations or paintings. Because brad nails are so small and they leave just a pinhole and walls they have been the easy and preferred way to hang decorations.

Doesn’t work with brass brads
Got this to use with brass brads. The head on the brads does not fit in nail tube. So don’t really have much use for it now. Thought that had a snap to it like an auto center punch. It only pushes nail in as held in tube. Will find a use one day.

Jammed with the 3rd brad
This jammed with the 3rd brad and each after. I had one of these for 20+ years. Worked great. They must have changed the manufacturing process because this jammed quickly and is now useless. The metal used to make the punch and tube seem very soft. The brads we thick enough that it should not have jammed. I'll br replacing with one that has a little more substance to it.

I'am a first buyer & user of this Brad & Nail driver.
Since I' am a 1st time buyer & user of this brad & nail driver, I tried it out on some wood trim that I will use on older window trim. The trim will be attached to the older crank out windows that need some inside storm windows attached to them. It works well with pilot holes drilled into to the trim wood to avoid spiting the thin trim. I would buy again if I needed another one. Thanks Mike
