Ivy and Bean and the Ghost that Had to Go (Ivy & Bean, Book 2) Paperback – Illustrated, March 1, 2007

I like it because it’s like from their perspective and it’s just really funny. They’re trying to banish this ghost which is really silly. I like the girls friendships. Overall, it’s just a good book.

My daughter is in 2nd grade just like Ivy and Bean, and she adores these books. We saw the Netflix movies first and immediately ordered the first 3 books. We'll probably get them all. They're so funny and well written - the author does a great job getting inside the heads of kooky, quirky 7 year olds :) I like that my daughter can read these on her own or I can read them to her, and we're both entertained.

My 12 year old daughter loves these books. I have had trouble finding series she liked and these are doing the trick. So far she is intrigued and they aren't too hard for her reading level. Perfect because there are several in the series so I plan to order more.

Big Hit for my granddaughter!

My seven year old is a big reader and loves this series. I find the books to be fun and cute without the words being too difficult. The only downside for us is that my daughter is reading them faster than they're being written. I wouldn't suggest this as an independent reader for newer readers (those just coming out of the Step readers etc) unless you are reading it with them. We like to pick one book to read together and take turns reading pages. I've found that it helps my daughter remember what she's read more and I get a better sense of what the books are about without having to pre-read them.

Love ,Ms. Aruba-Tate, the girls' second grade teacher. She deals with the kids so well. Kids are so into "ghost stories", so this is extra fun!

My kid really wanted to hate reading, but she loved this series. She loved the book so much that she finished it in 2 days and asked for the next one to get here as soon as possible so she could continue the series. I am so happy I found these books.

My daughter received Book 1 of the Ivy and Bean series for her fifth birthday about a month ago. We finished the first book in two nights, and she wanted more! We have read up to book six, and haven't read further only because we haven't had time to order them or swing by the book store to get them. I love this series because it follows the antics of two girls who form an unlikely friendship - which gives my daughter the courage to try to make new friends. They explore, get dirty, try new things, and embrace their childhood. This book helped distract my little girl from the likes of Winx, Barbie, and, Bratz, which only teach girls that their value lies in their looks. Ivy and Bean's looks are beside any point the stories try to make. It's just a great, fun series to read to young girls.
