Q: Are the sides hars so the bag doesn't collapse when empty?

The sides do NOT collapse. It has a quilted outer fabric with a stabilizer underneath. I’ve taken 2 trips with all 3 of my bags and LOVE them ! They’ve stood the test of the TSA and tight packing. I also love that they are so customizable with the included Velcro interior dividers. Go for it ! You won’t regret your purchase.
