Just not what I needed

Do not work
I replaced my spring on my KLR by a 8.1 kg/cm. I made it but now I can trash the tool. Not strong enough. Stay away from it

EVENLY tighten or loosen.
Good product. They aren't built like a tank, but you're not working with tank track. Interestingly enough, tank tracks have these things called track jacks that are identical to these, but weight about 90lbs each. Excellent value and a good tool to have. Much easier than using spring compressors for an auto. Put one in a vise, lay shock on top, put the other on top and that will help you keep everything under control.

It's the only tool that works
Mine were soft springs and I was very careful not to torque the compressor without having a wrench on the body to keep it from slipping off. Some people have reported this hazard, but it's a unique tool for a unique job and it worked fine for me.

Good Compressor
Grease the threads and compress the springs evenly and it works fine.

Be careful with this one
It did the job. But the outer covering bent when being held with a wrench during compression and release. Used this to remove old spring and install new Progressive 1000/1200lb dual rate spring onto 2005 Goldwing shock. Again, it did get the job done, it's just I think the capacity may be overrated.

Will collapse spring enough to remove collar
Needed to collapse spring on dirt bike (''22 beta 390) to switch out spring. This product worked well to collapse spring an inch or two to remove retaining collar.

Broke immediately
Tried to remove the spring on the rear shock of my motorcycle. These began twisting as soon as I put my ratchet on them and were completely mangled without even compressing the spring half an inch

Amazing
Work great. Used on many different ATV and dirt bike springs

Worked great
Used on KLR spring no issues. Just make sure you put a crescent wrench around body

Okay to use a couple of times. Not recommended for large bike shocks though.
Make sure you really greese up the threads on this tool each time you use it. Do not use a power tool. Use a hand socket wrench and alternate every few times. I used on an ‘83 Honda Magna ( dual rear shocks) . It did the job but was definitely maxed out !
