Umarex Makes ANOTHER Winner...
I decided to get this pistol based on a couple things:1) I really LIKED the S&W M&P when Umarex made that one a few years back.2) The PRICE was just TOO GOOD to pass up.Call it A WIN...on BOTH counts. The XBG pistol is CO2-powered with a similar magazine as the M&P, holding approx. 18 rounds of steel BBs. And the magazine drops free easily with a button located on the left side near the trigger guard.A manual safety is located in a smiliar manner to the M&P - right side on the body of the pistol above the trigger guard. The LOOK of the pistol is intriguing as well...like someone went and married a Walther PPQ to a Springfield Armory XD Compact...(I now pronounce you "well-designed"...lol)It's a bit on the light side, weight-wise, but still feels ergonomically comfortable in hand. The textured ABS plastic gives it a rugged feel as well.Feeding this puppy is a snap.A hinged door on the backstrap lifts up to allow access to the cartridge for a quick swap, and a screw nestled under the grip allows easy removal or insertion of the CO2 powerlets. The REAL fun comes when you start sending BBs down-range.The package claims 410 FPS velocity, and I can easily believe it.It will tear through any can like it's paper (at 15 feet), and I must have gotten slightly OVER ten mags before the pressure dropped off markedly. And like ALL my BB pistols, I always add a drop of pellgun oil on top of the cartridge before insertion to keep the seal from drying out. That practice hasn't failed yet.The XBG IS a joy to fire and is a REAL HONEST pistol, considering the sights are fixed front and rear. It WILL hit what you aim it at.Getting used to only ONE dot on the front blade took a couple rounds to get used to.Would be nice to have a THREE-DOT pattern, or even a Heine "straight-eight", but it's not a big deal. The trigger pull for this DAO is long (as can be expected), but not overly hard, and breaks easy. It's a real shame it doesn't have blowback!Overall, you just can't beat the Umarex XBG when it comes to COST...and accuracy...and FUN!I'd recommend this pistol to kids of ANY age.Umarex is getting good at making affordable BB pistols fun again.Shoot straight and practice safety.

All around good shooter, just not something I can use for what I at first intended.
Seems like a sturdy little shooter. It has decent weight, and is pretty accurate for non adjustable sights. Fits really well in my hands. Ive put about 100 or so BB's through it so far, and its great fun, especially for the price! I originally got this to plink at some stray cats that keep spraying on our stuff around the house (which prompts my cat to spray INSIDE the house). Now, before everyone gets up in arms, this was before I realized the power that this thing packs. Back when I was younger, the cheaper plinkers would leave a welt, and I have used them to discourage all sorts of pesky critters, from coons, to cats, to dogs. We used to have BB gun wars as a kid with these things, and the worst any of us got hurt was taking one to the privates. Things have changed a bit from my younger days it seems. This will easily embed a BB into soft wood at 30+ feet, so definitely not something I would recommend using as a non-lethal deterrent. So back to my original plan of using cage traps and a bit of water, which my wife and kids veto'd for "being too cruel to the poor kittys"The only thing I would change is the trigger pull. It would be nice to have an adjustable or just a lighter trigger. You have to put a fair amount of pull into the trigger, which really makes it hard to squeeze. One of the great things about BB guns, is with the proper backing, shooting in the back yard of a neighborhood isnt an issue, so is great for some fire safety for the kids. My youngest has a bit of an issue with the pull weigh, which really throws off her aim. But thats alright. We hit the range often enough that I'm not worried about her picking up bad habits from shooting the BB gun... and for the price, I really can not complain.

Phenomenal, for the Price!
I'll keep this short: this BB gun is worth every penny. I purchased this item at about $23 and to be frank, I expected something that reflects the price: light, flimsy, and cheaply made. That is not what I received at all. This gun is has an amazing grip & feel to it: it's heavy and looks quite expensive, all things considered. The trigger feels quite nice as well; it's responsive and doesn't provide much resistance. It's made with a combination of plastic & metal. Unless you are up close and looking directly into the barrel, it looks like a real gun. It's well designed and very easy to use. The safety on this gun is well made and won't get flipped to "off" by accident. It has a decently loud "crack" when you fire it, and is as powerful as you'd expect from a low-end BB gun.My only gripe? When releasing the magazine, BB's tend to fall out, which you should be careful of losing if you have animals or small children. This, however, is normal with BB guns and didn't bother me much-- I simply hold the gun upside down when removing the magazine and then cup my hand under the opening to catch loose BB's when I flip it back over.Overall, this is a near flawless product that I'd recommend to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money but would like to own a good, solid, functional BB gun that can be used for loads of fun, and also tricking troublesome neighbors into believing you're a "real gun" owner.

Nice to have
This is what I pick up as I walk out the door to head outside. I live in the country and we have numerous uninvited guests and this helps deter most of them. Great value, built well, and used frequently.

Awesome little BB air gun
My son was esthetic to receive this for Christmas. It looks just like his dad's Taurus. We put a laser light on it for him.And it shoots accurate with or without the laser! We'll be purchasing another one!
