U.S. Divers Diva 1 LX/Island Dry Adult Silicone Mask Combo Kit

I get a new mask and snorkel every two years or so. I really like this set when it works, because it's truly wonderful! But there are times I go to breathe and the device at the end that's meant to keep water out when you're underwater closes and won't let air in when I need it. YIKES! That can get scary at times. I've had this set for 4 months and that's happened about a dozen times. I guess it's easy enough to reach up and fix it, or shake your head to get it working again, but it doesn't forestall that small moment of panic. The other thing I don't like is that my hair gets tangled in the clasp where the snorkel is attached to the strap, and because of how it's situated it is very hard to get it untangled. Maybe someone with short hair wouldn't have that problem, but mines only medium length. I really wish I could give it 5 stars, because when it's working and not pulling my hair it's great. But those things happen too often, in my opinion.

I bought two of these for my tween daughters for a 9 day snorkeling trip. They worked well, and the kids dove under to get a closer look at fish with no problems. Occasionally the valve would stay closed longer than they liked, but overall they were happy with them. I used it once and found that with the valve the air intact is slightly more constricted than my open top snorkel (non-dry), but it didn't seem to bother my kids. This one happened to come in a handy mesh bag (no blister pack though). The other I ordered in a different color came from another vendor and was just in a plain carboard box. no bag, no blisterpack.

I bought this to replace a U.S. Diver mask and snorkel that finally broke. This one is a woman's mask and I thought that might be better because I'm -- well -- a woman. This unit has never adjust to where it is consistently comfortable. I use it to swim laps and after a few laps I start sounding like I'm breathing through water. I don't ever breathe water but the snorkel allows a small amount of water in and unless it's cleared all the time, it makes that distracting burbling sound/vibration. Some days it's okay and I have minimum problems but others I'm having to adjust some part of it every few laps.

This was my first snorkel set. The hot pink was fun and bright. It even arrived in a mesh bag to carry the set.I had been really nervous about the mask fitting my face as with goggles I've often had problems with leakage and then my eyes stinging from salt water. This actually fit well! I did have to tighten it so I ended up with the impression of the mask on my forehead when I removed it but that is so worth it for the peace of mind to be able to snorkel without worry. The mouthpiece fit and I really appreciate the valve blocking water from coming inside.We went on 2 snorkel tours which included their own masks so we didn't bring this and compared to the two masks the snorkel companies used this was higher quality, better fit and function.I am thrilled with my purchase and highly recommend this. I cannot wait till my next adventure where I get to go snorkeling.

I purchased this product for a trip to Mexico. My boyfriend purchased the male version. We went snorkeling several times in different places, sea water, and fresh water. The silicone mask worked great, and really stuck on your face. I only had problems with water in the mask on one of our many trips. And I think that was the fault of my long ponytail moving out of place, and not the mask. The dry top was THE BEST. When waves crash on it, you don't get a drop of water in. If you want to swim under for a closer look at something, when you resurface you just breathe. There is no blowing water out, it has drained on the bottom on its own. My mouth stayed water free with the dry top. I've had it about a month now. I hope it lasts for years to come. I can't wait to snorkel again.

I snorkeled twice with this on trip to Florida. I am so pleased with the mask performance. It fit great and no water seeped in. Our first snorkel trip was in choppy water and the snorkel fell out of the clip so occasionally water got into my mouth, but for the most part the snorkel stood up OK. (I wasn't able to re-hook it in the water and didn't want to take everything off.) If there wouldn't have been choppy water with an unclipped snorkel I don't think any water would have gotten in. No water got in my mouth on second trip when snorkel remained clipped and water was calm. I did not have any fogging problems but on our first trip the guide said that without cleaning, a brand new mask would fog up. So he gave me some toothpaste - the only thing that works according to him - to wash out inside of mask. Must have worked because I had no fogging and very clear vision.

Used this on my trip to the Philippines. It was well worth it!! It was affordable and did not take room in the luggage. I liked the grip of the face mask. It completely kept the water out. I had some fogging issues but not much. I did use the mouth tube but not all the time. I found that if you did not have the ring attached, the tube tended to bend towards the water. I had to adjust it up a few times since I did not use the attachment.

The mask is great, but I would have liked the snorkel to have had a more flexible mouth piece. Additionally, the clasps on the snorkel that help it attach to the mask broke very easily without much stress. I do appreciate that the snorkel has a splash guard. This is a good set for someone just learning to snorkel, but I wouldn't recommend it for diving.
