I have no idea what the bottom dimensions mean, or why they are there. The parts I received are 36” long, 1 3/4” wide and 1/8 in h high.

I have a three inch wide gap between my front door and the outside screen door .Will this work for that?

No because this is only 1-3/4-inches wide. With your three inch gap you would need one that is three inches wide.

Are the nail holes predrilled?

Yes. And don't miss the nail with the hammer or you will dent the metal!
