I bought the Top Race TR-212 dump truck to play with my grandson, but he took it over. I own a few good Traxxas RCs and felt for the price to give this dump truck a try.I was surprised. It looks good, seems well made (only had it for 10 days) and the remote functions are pretty good.Functions: forward, backward, left, right, dumpster up and down, lights on/off, engine sound on/off. With lights on, both lights stay on going forward, both blink when backing up, blink right on right turn, blink left on left turn.It also has the beeping sound most large vehicles make backing up.My grandson has used it daily since we got in 10 days ago. He can operate all the remote functions easily, except his hands are too small to hold the remote and operate the fwd/back and left/right toggles at the same time. He loves loading up blocks and legos in the dumpster and driving down the hallway and dumping. (make sure legos or blocks are small enough to fit under the dumpster gate)The battery has lasted between 1- 3 hours between charges, however, I can't say what the total continuous battery life per charge would be.It's only been used indoors so far. I know what cleaning I go through with my other RCs, and don't want to do that cleaning yet.Very satisfied with the purchase, but I'll have to buy a Top Rank excavator or backhoe so I can load the dump truck for my grandson...lol.

I grew up with Tonka trucks. So some sixty years later I'm looking for the modern version for my grandkids to use in our sandbox. I started with the Top Race excavator but it was soon evident that a dump truck was necessary. Enter the TR-212. With the steel dump bed, it felt like my old ones. But oh so much more! This thing is built well. With soft sand, it had some problems going forward. I put a 5 lb. rock in the dump bed--no problem. Plenty of power. And the fine touches are evident. You can even align the steering if it doesn't go quite straight. I appreciate that Top Race is committed to building a good product. They get used by the young road builders.

Truck is EXTREMELY loud, and a bit slower than I would’ve liked but overall a fantastic product. I was a tad bit upset that I couldn’t fit my cat in the bed of the truck.

this is now the third one ordered. the first was bought a few months back for my co-workers son here in Bulgaria as a gift from his father. it was so well received that the little boys cousins were smitten by the little remote control truck. me co-worker had to get two more for his nephews. the price point was (by a comparable toy found here in eastern europe) very good as well. the children have used it along with a backhoe, dozer and i think one other piece maybe here at the beaches in the sand and it keeps the kids playing for the longest time and having a grand time. the children just love the toys and use them as a team. one operates the truck while another the backhoe and so forth. money well spent

I have to admit that it made me sort of a hero dad upon unwrapping. It looks durable, worked really well on a smooth surface, my son loved it. For some reason, he really likes the beeping sounds trucks make when the backup and he was thrilled with this one. The dumping action is really cool.Unfortunately, several features stopped working very quickly. Within the first hour or so it would no longer turn. Then the beeping stopped working in reverse (even with the sound option turned on).I can't return it because I bought it a couple of months in advance of the event. I believe the return window is 1 month. Otherwise, I would return it and hope for the best.I don't normally write reviews but I wanted others to be warned of the quality issues.

This truck is well constructed, it feels super solid and the lifting power of the dumper is unbelievable.I read some people complaining that it does not have much wheel power. I don't know if I got an upgraded version but mine has no problem running through heavy carpet with five pounds of load in it. I put in 10lbs and it was able to dump that with ease. My son is playing with it everyday and I am happy because this feels like one toy that is not going to suddenly stop working.The remote is first rate and is lot more beefy and solid than a typical toy controller. Also the short antenna is one less thing to break. The Truck and remote have full auto power off after several minutes of inactivity. The rechargeable batteries seem to last about 3-4 hours of play time before needing recharging. Recharge time is about 2 hours. I am not thrilled about the charging unit as it is one of those cheap looking USB to battery connector ones.I really wish they has put a charging port on the side of the truck. It's a PITA to open the battery compartment every time the truck needs recharging.

Quality is very good and the appearance is really something to see. The truck works as advertised and I would consider purchasing Top Race products in the future. Packaging was excellent and unit arrived undamaged. I have not operated in sand yet so school is out on how it will function but on a hard surface it works well. I purchased this for a four and a half year old Granddaughter and she loved it, actually I loved it and I am in my seventies.

I bought this dump truck to use at a construction fair for high students to use in an activity. I am really happy with how durable this RC vehicle is. This vehicle has good power to it; its not really fast but it does move fast enough. It also has the power to lift up a sufficient amount of sand at once. I am also happy with how long the battery last. The remotes are easy enough to use and the sound and lights are cool.
