CaribSea Arag-Alive 20-Pound Fiji Pink Sand

I had ordered 2 bags but got 1...good thing is they refunded the amount for 1 bag within a week.It's been just a month now and the CARIB SEA Aragonite alive reef sand seems to have started doing its job perfectly.I had mixed it with dead sand which it has been slowly turning to live.The appearance is unique and very appealing.Pros: It suppressed the new tank syndrome, reduced ammonia, natural filter. The water is clean and crystal clear. The best part provided lots of surface area for bacterial adhesion.Cons: NoneI would recommend this product a must buy for all reef/saltwater tanks.My tank dimension: 42X16X18 (inches)FYI: 1 bag was enough to attain a depth of 1.5 inch ( I had mixed it with dead sand. 22lbs Carib sea sand + 7 lbs of Dead sand)

Probably the cheapest decent live sand you can buy. Works good and I use it in several tanks. Not really pink though but still looks good.

This sand has held my ph consistent at 8.2. My tap only has a 7.4 ph. Cycles fast and looks great. 5 star. Highly recommend. It’s expensive but it will never need to be replaced and contains tons of beneficial bacteria.

I thought I made the wrong choice when the delivery came but once the water was in and the lights were on it was the best decision, beautiful white sand with small specs of Fiji Pink rocks and really helped the chemical balance within my tank, Will 10/10 recommend.

The media could not be loaded.  Although it is clearly not pink, I find this substrate to be very attractive. I like that it contains beneficial bacteria, so when I added fish to it right away encountered no ammonia or nitrite spikes; I did not rinse the sand so the bacteria could survive. I use dechlorinated municipal tap water in my aquariums, and this substrate buffered both the carbonate hardness as well as the general hardness from soft to medium-hard and raised my neutral/7 pH to about 8 (which is great for African Cichlids). I am keeping shell dwellers (neolamprologus multifasciatis / multis) in a 20 long tank and needed about 30 pounds so ended up buying two bags. The sand is fine enough for them to dig and move around (which is one of their characteristic behaviors). I find Caribsea to be a great company and highly recommend this product.
