A very excellent book about a great American! We remember Rickenbaker for his WWI fame, but his contributions to America in the 20th century went far beyond that. An amazing life story!

No one has survived more near death experiences. This book really proves you can do whatever you want if you have the drive and the guts to just go for it! A true heroic life.

Eddie Rickenbacker writes his memoirs with as much flair as he lived his life, and if you don't know anything about him before reading this book you'll be tempted to think he's full of himself. That's what I thought the first time I read this in the mid 1990s. However, when I'd finished the book I researched Mr. Rickenbacker and discovered that he'd represented himself very well! I re-read his memoir with a more careful attention to detail and realized what a treasure of 20th century history is lost for American students when they learn nothing of Eddie Rickenbacker! That's why I bought this copy of his book. The copy I'd read wasn't mine to keep, and finding this copy was both difficult and pricey, as the book has been out of print for so long!IF you can find a copy of Rickenbacker, read it. It has something for sports fans, stock car racing, moonshine running, World Wars I and II, airlines, pilots, business--just about everyone can find something interesting in here!
