I bought this type of red sea cucumber for a while and since it is really good and healthy, I would like to show what I did to prepare and clean this sea cucumber. Because this product is dried sea cucumber, you need to take 2 days to prepare them. As pictures attached, these are what I did to prepare. 1. P put them in clean water and change every twice a day, morning and late night so it will soak and grow bigger. 2. After 2 days, when it is softer, you can cut in the middle and clean inside. The top of the cucumber area is the "mouth", which is white and hard. You need to remove them and clean completely as you cannot eat this part. 3. After step 2, put them back to water for another 1 day as it will grow even bigger. 4. You can cook them in many ways you like. For example, add them in chicken or vegetable soup 10 mins before it is ready. Or you can cut them into small pieces and eat with hot source. You can also add them in the salad and eat directly or stir fry them with beef or other seafood. But please pay attention - do not mix sea cucumber with vinegar as those two will react additional calcium in stomach. When you finish preparing it, either cook it or frozen them in fridge. It lasts for weeks. The dried cucumber can be reserved for 3 years if you froze them.There are several reasons I like this sea cucumber:First of all, this sea cucumber is grown and captured from Alaska where is super clean environment. In my opinion, it is better than other "so called" organic food. Also, sea cucumber has special nutrition that can increase your immune system, I usually buy several each year for my families and they all like it. Even people can buy supplements made from sea cucumber, the better and natural way is eating sea cucumber instead of man-made ones. Last but not least, there are many ways to cook it and it is simple, delicious and worth the money.

I had quite a few different kind of sea cucumbers, this I found extra easy and tasty. The look of this Red Sea cucumber is better than some, I will purchase the big one for feast or party, ( It will be a looker) and the smaller one for regular meal.I tested the sample pack before I decided to buy the pound, they did not disappoint me. Very good quality.There are no funny smell,-that is a very good thing for dried seafood, also very clean so the work is minimal.Price could be a little better( I am comparing the price between the 8oz, to local a Chinatown grocery store), but with the comfy of ordered and delivered to my house, the extra is well spent.

I had recently ordered the Alaska Sea Cucumber sample pack from this XLSeafood. I just wanted to try it because my family and I really enjoy this type of cuisine, we normally buy the sea cucumbers at the Dried Seafood Store (海味店) in China Town which was pretty pricey $$$$.After received the order, we follow the instructions that on the package which explains how easily to prepare the cucumbers for cooking, (Note: The instruction provided for preparation only) Once prepared, I cooked the sea cucumbers using my own recipe with soy sauces, ginger, scallions, and cooking sherry. OMG! The sea cucumbers were so delicious. I can say these cucumbers have very good texture just like the kind we brought from those dried seafood stores but without the high price version. We are planning to order more and I am highly recommend these Alaska Sea Cucumbers from XLSeafood.

Expensive for this size. The sea cucumber expanded okay, but not impressive. The taste is normal. Probably won’t buy it again.

Not worth the price, it was hard. I soaked it for 5 days as per the instructions and it became mushy on the outside but wa sstill hard inside. I've bought this many times from a store in Chinatown and I've never had this outcome, this is the first time it got mushy. Def not worth it and I feel like it's not premium at all.

I bought these for my parents a couple of weeks ago and they finally cooked them during the weekend. Very clean and easy to prepare. Taste good too! Will try a bigger pack next time.

Considered to be beneficial for health because of high collagen content this sea cucumber tastes very much like another rich source of collagen - pig skin and tastes nearly identical. Not worth the price.

This sample pack is perfect for people try sea cucumber for the first time. It has easy to follow instruction on how to prepare the dried sea cucumber. The quality of the food seems very good. It's delicious.
