Raybestos R-Line Automotive Replacement Rear Parking Brake Hardware Kit for Select Dodge, Chrysler, Ford, Mercury, Lincoln (H7302)

Made in China...well, what isn't these days? Maybe the Trump Administration will ensure that something that comes in a box with "Raybestos" on it will be made in the USA by this time next year...anyway, I digress.The kit is actually really decent quality. Everything you need is in the box and it all fits perfectly and works well. I had no trouble at all installing this kit and brand new shoes on my 08 Crown Vic, and it looks like it's going to last at least until my next brake job. The guy who said the springs are oriented wrong was doing it wrong. The springs are shaped perfectly you just have to take a minute and make sure you have it oriented right.

Fits my '05 Dodge Magnum RT AWD; parking / emergency drum-brake portion of the rear 'hat' rotors. These fit just fine (with the usual swearing for drum brake work). I used the specified lube.SAFETY NOTE: drum brakes use (metal) springs, which have a limited lifetime in this application and will eventually fail! You really want to replace the brake hardware whenever you change drum brake pads.More info: Metal springs must be 'spring tempered' to last. Tempering is done by heating then cooling them in a particular way. When you use your brakes, the brakes get hot, then cool off. This heating and cooling cycle eventually destroys the 'spring temper' of the brake springs. Once they are no longer spring tempered, they will begin to lose their spring tension and will fatigue and fail. For safety, it is important to replace the brake hardware when you do your brakes!

Had to drop this kit down a star because the pins that it comes with are a little different than stock. They have a flattened end, that goes into a slot where as the stock pins had a cone shaped tip that you slipped into the spring, then slid it back. I did not need new pins (and did not want to pull the spindle to get to the pins) so we ended up using the old pins and clips (that were still in good shape).All of the other parts worked well, and it was a nice touch to include the brake shoe grease for the backing plate.We used this on our 2005 Dodge Magnum SXT.

This hardware kit is a direct fit for the OEM hardware. I used it to install new parking brake shoes on my 2004 Crown Victoria and it fit perfectly. It may not be necessary if your current parking brake hardware is in tact, but it's an easy replacement for $12.98. The retaining clips included are slightly different than the OEM Ford variant, but I found they were actually easier to install or remove than the Ford clips.

Never rep1lace your emergency brakes without changing the hardwear.

The only complaint I have are the pins that secure the spring steel springs. They are not very strong. I ripped the end off one of them trying to get it on. May have been my fault but I have never had this happen before even when reusing old ones. So, don't throw out your old one's until you get these on :)

The hardwear looks good, but it looks like it's very old the paint is all chipped off inside the bag. I'll see how it holds up when I put it on my car this weekend and I'll update this review.
