The Cable Guy

Odds are, if you are contemplating purchasing this movie on Blu-Ray, you probably already like it so I won't bother reviewing the film. Suffice it to say that this is one of my all-time favorite comedies.Because of its rejection by audiences upon its release, this film was never given a proper release on DVD. A bare-bones copy exists and is worth every penny of the $5 you probably spent on it. I was shocked to hear of a Blu-Ray release given its previous reputation as a mediocre comedy by a bunch of people with little experience (and Jim Carrey acting out of character). I never agreed with that reputation and therefore was pleased to see so much effort was being put into this new release.All efforts paid off in a big way. The sound and picture are about as good as its gets in HD. Colors are crisp, contrast is sharp, and every nook and cranny is observable. While that is a draw in itself, the special features are what merit the upgrade from the DVD. Commentary by Judd Apatow, Ben Stiller, and Jim Carrey provides insight into the making of the film and demonstrates how much fun it must have been to work with the three of them together. Their childish banter and constant joking make for a delightful listen, and their reactions to the film are almost as hilarious as the film itself. The best part is that they keep going and going until the movie's end cuts them off. The deleted/extended scenes offer a vision of the film which could have been much darker as well as fills in the gaps left by the theatrical trailer (which featured a lot of cut scenes in it). The gag reel is very funny and shows off Carrey's typical off-screen antics. The behind-the-scenes features offer a chance for fans to witness how the film came together. Coupled with the commentary, a fully developed concept of the movie emerges, one that demonstrates just how ahead of its time this film was.I would recommend that any fan of this film spend the money and upgrade from their DVD copy. It is entirely worth it.

I actually love this movie but the sound quality was not good. I have a brand-new dvd player. Not the player. I sent this back for a refund but have not heard back. Very upset. This has happened with a few DVDs that I was not reimbursed for. Not happy!!!!

I didn’t get this movie when I saw it as a kid in 1996. I think you have to be an adult before you really start meeting creepy males like the Jim Carrey character depicts. Now I’m retrospect the moving is finally getting the respect it observes. Ben Stiller is a great director and brings along all of his funny friends to help round out the film—and Broderick and Carrey are spectacular playing off one another the laughs never stop.

I had an amazing and enjoyable movie experience! The film was fantastic and provided me with lots of fun. Moreover, the package arrived in perfect condition, without any damage. It was well-secured and properly handled during delivery. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for an entertaining and flawless viewing experience.

a very dark comedy. my favorite jim carrey movie.

Outstanding film. Always was and still holds up as a comic psychological thriller.I think some people get confused by the many moods of the film and the obsessionof a male character to another male character.I always liked that in the end the premise is simple:Be a good mother because if you don't and your child feels abandoned by you because they are leftalone to hurt and then receive stimuli of violence and obsession, you will have trouble!Just kidding, that is a bit simplistic, but I always thought it was clever that the child (Carey) is left aloneat night by a partying mother.Television is his only friend, so while he is in emotional agony he is switching back & forth between violence and a stalker film (Play Misty for me -A truly great movie) and voila! he ends up being a lonely obsessive stalker!So many funny things in this, especially Broderick's straight man routine which he has always been the best at (much like his unassuming character in Election, which would be a great double feature with Cable Guy btw!)Great soundtrack as well.You can palpably feel Carey's mania & ferocity while watching, it's fantastic.

Perfect 90’s flick to watch. Kind of darker but funny humor, very entertaining

You can't go wrong with Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick!!

Film d'infanzia, recuperato ad un prezzo non proprio economico (12 carte) ma essendo UK ha una confezione non sottiletta come le nostre. È stata una grossa sorpresa scoprire che ha anche il doppiaggio in italiano, ma non solo. I menù sono in italiano, anche i sottotitoli per film ed extra, quindi perché non viene venduto in Italia...? Quasi tutto il film gode di un'ottima resa video, ha un ottimo audio (in lingua originale, in ita non saprei), gli extra sono divertentissimi e dimostrano quanto si siano divertiti a lavorarci Stiller, Carrey e Broderick. Consigliato.

Película Un loco a domicilio en perfecto castellano!!Calidad de imagen muy buena y como digo en castellano.
