The Rising Minister (Sherlock Holmes Uncovered Tales) Paperback – March 26, 2014

Possibly a disclaimer is in order. I love Stephen Ehrman's work and own the previous 5 volumes of his 'Sherlock Holmes Uncovered' books which have received high reviews. So when one comes down the pike that isn't quite there, it's a chore saying something is definitely worth the purchase price but the author has done better. Guess I just did. All of the elements for a strong Homes story are here but they seem to be stretched out and a touch disorganized. In short, definitely buy this one; however, if you read the first 5 volumes in this series you'll understand my ambivalence.

This mystery book hooked me up until the very last page, and I enjoyed reading this fantastic book. It is written in a true Arthur Conan Doyle style.

This mystery was well thought out and fast paced. The characters were believable, and the ending practical. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

Well written. A fun read

From first page to last this tale becomes more engrossing and keeps the reader marvelling at the wit of Holmes as he unearths the obvious which has been overlooked by the police. Dr Watson explains both sides to the pondering reader. Excellent book.

An entertaining tale giving Holmes the chance to display his phenomenal powers of deduction. I did feel that the denouement was a little tentative but Holmes carried it through. A very enjoyable read.

Excellent as always, a consistently brilliant purveyor of pure Holmes and Watson.Only one complaint.............not enough new books per year !
