Bill & Gloria Gaither: Tent Revival Homecoming

Every now and then, Gaither Homecoming has some remarkable double programs. And this unique concert was recorded at the Billy Graham Library, in North Carolina. You will get a tour. Surprisingly, two elderly guests who performed with Graham are here, Cliff Barrows 89, music and program director for the Graham organization, and America's beloved gospel singer, 104-year old George Beverly Shea.It is great to see some of the old timers included in the 140 of gospel singers, namely Ben Speer. This wonderful program recaptures the spirit and fun of the old fashioned tent revival gospel music.The performers have replicated the dress of the 50's and 60's, complete with the huge tent and sawdust on the floor.To start the program, one of the first songs of the Gaithers that introduced me to the Homecoming Friends...and that is "Yes, I Know", a long-time favorite. I love the upbeat "Jesus Hold My Hand" and one I had not heard before, "Down to the River". Enjoy the classic "When the Saints Go Marching In".There is a person, new to me, and her name is Taranda Green. If you enjoyed her singing, she does have a strong presence here thoughout.Country music favorites, the Gatlin Brothers,  The Gatlin Brothers Come Home Gaither Gospel Series  and more regulars returned, The Hoppers, The Isaacs, Gaither Vocal Band, The Easters, etc."Daddy Sang Bass" was sung by Dailey & Vincent, who performed on another of the best concert doubles,  Bill Gaither Presents: A Gospel Bluegrass Homecoming, Volume 1  and  Gospel Bluegrass Homecoming, Vol. 2 .It is not often that we get to hear Michael Sykes sing. The performance of "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" by Angela Primm, Jason Crabb, and Marshall Hall is totally worth the cost of the DVD. But once you throw in all of the other Gaither Greats.....WOW!Filmed at the Billy Graham property with glimpses of the history of Billy Graham Ministries scattered between performances makes it educational as well as inspiring. There are so many great gospel performances that this has become my favorite Gaither DVD

seldom have i had as blessed a spirit filled time as with gaither hyms & products. having met irv chambers at a school assembly in moncton n.b. in the 60s it was great re-experiencing his genius. also g.b. shea. seeing singing women of high moral code of honour,no matter the cost performing brought tears to my eyes. i have walked with the Lord for 60 of my 64 years. this was good for eye washing & soul edefication as all gaither products are bathed in the "power of the blood". don't hear much reference to this anymore, but i remember the old saw dust trail & the God who reaches the lost sheep, regardless of politics.

I love this dvd. Almost all the songs here speak to my heart...it might be because I reside in Korea, which is populated by so many atheists and Buddhists, whose culture and way if life are so far and different from what I believe is a lifestyle of love for and worship of God.This dvd brings lots of gospel favorites and the Gaither family just have a wonderful way singing ,it just gives me and my little kid joy to watch them perform, over and over.

As is their norm, they put out yet another great DVD/CD. A lot of the faces and voices of the past and many new ones. Some spirit touched music and I would certainly recommend this one!

Bill and Gloria Gaither have produced a treasure of DVD and CD recordings in the "Homecoming" Series, and they have all been very good; but the "Tent Revival Homecoming" is one of their best productions to date. Recorded at the Billy Graham Library, it brings together many of the Gospel music artists seen and heard on previous "Homecoming" productions, as well as iconic Billy Graham associates George Beverly Shea and Cliff Barrows. If you love Gospel music, you'll be totally pleased with this DVD, and you'll enjoy the "Tent Revival Homecoming" CD also.

I can't say enough about the uplift you receive from the music. It isn't just their singing it is the joy of the Lord that you see upon each face. They are not just singing the words it is coming straight from the heart. So thankful that the Lord shines through in all of their music.

I HAVE LISTENED TO, AND COLLECTED GAITHER MUSIC FOR SEVERAL YEARS.THEIR MUSIC IS DOWN-HOME; THE PERFORMERS ARE SINCERE; A TRULY UPLIFTING SPIRIT IS EVIDENT IN THE SINGING, AND EVEN THE HUMOR IS ACCEPTABLE.THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THINGS CHRISTIAN CAN BE FOUND EACH TIME I LISTEN TO THE MUSIC OR WATCH THE VIDEOS.

Good viewing and listening. I would have appreciated a list of contents before purchasing as not many of the tracks I was hoping for are included.

This DVD is really good once again Bill Gaither has produced a great DVD with the singers singing many of the old and new songs George Beverley Shea and Cliff Barrows it was lovely to see them also

More great stories and music to challenge the down-hearted and encourage the brave hearted and a great sing along for all who like gospel music

As per usual an excellent production by Bill Gaither, recommended to all Bill & Gloria Gaither fans, value for money.
