Great for fluid retention issues!
I have lymphedema, this olive leaf extract really reduced my swelling a lot. I'm the kind of person who always takes double what the suggested dosage is, I want to immediately know if something is going to work! My sister, who is a nurse, says that's going to get me in big trouble one day! But anyway, I bought this olive leaf extract hoping for a reduction in blood pressure. Well, I haven't been to the doctor in the past month so I don't really know. But, I can say for sure, this extract caused about 15 lbs of fluid to leave my body in less than a month! So, I WILL be taking this again for sure. One problem though, when I bought this brand back on July 27th, it was less than $9, NOW its $17!!!! I might try a less expensive brand, but still I will be taking it again. I get my blood pressure checked again in December, I will report the results!--- UPDATE - January 11, 2019 ---OK, so I went to the doctor yesterday for my semi annual checkup. My blood pressure ("bp') was 139/84. OK so the 84 was 4 points higher than what my doctor would like, but I weigh 408 pounds! So my doctor says considering my weight, my bp is really good!So here is my history,In January of year 2017 (or maybe 2016) I was in the hospital for about 6 days after being admitted with a bp of like 208/104. To make a long story short, after experimenting with different things here is my formula for a 139/84 without losing any weight over the past three years and not going to the gym, MAYBE 10 times over that timeframe. (I don't want to say I didn't go AT ALL, but trust me, its like once every 3 or 4 months!) I know I SHOULD do those things.Anyway, in the morning before leaving for work...1 glass of cold brewed Hibiscus Flowers tea. (I buy the 1 Pound Bulk Bag of Frontier Co-op Organic brand Hibiscus Flowers, cut and sifted. I cold brew mine by having two, 1 litre containers sitting in the refrigerator and I alternate witch container I drink out of daily so one batch is always 24 hours old. Whenever I drink a glass from a container , I add in about half a teaspoon of flowers. refill and put it back int he refrigerator. )2 Olive Leaf Extract capsule. I use Swanson Olive Leaf Extract Super Strength 750 Milligram capsules.1 Magnesium Citrate tablet, containing 200 mg of magnesium. I use NOW brand1 AMLODIPINE-BENAZEPHIL 10-40MG prescription pill.As soon as I get home from work...1 glass of cold brewed Hibiscus Flowers teaJust before going to bed ...1 glass of cold brewed Hibiscus Flowers tea1 or 2 Olive Leaf Extract capsules. I use Swanson Olive Leaf Extract Super Strength 750 Milligram capsules.1 Magnesium Citrate tablet, containing 200 mg of magnesiumFrom my tracking my blood pressure over the years over the years, I think II can say the prescription med knocked it down from the 200 range into the 175 ish range. The Hibiscus flowers tea knocked it down into the 155 range. And the magnesium olive leaf combo knocked it down to the 139 area.I'm not saying the specific brands I used are better than any other brands. I just like when people post complete information so I can see if I get the same results, so that's what I'm doing here!Oh, but I can say this brand is still really great for fluid retention from lymphedema!! I figure why mess with something that's working unless somebody tells me they had really great success with a different brand.

Pretty amazing for flu... and maybe for IBS pain??
I bought this a few months ago after seeing reviews about its ability to fight colds and flu and it sat in the pantry.A couple of nights ago I suddenly broke into a 104.7°F fever after a whole day of feeling achy and cold (I don't recall having a fever over 101°F, ever, so this really scared me). I took two of these as well as 8 quercetin/bromelain tablets and put blue ice knee wraps on my neck and head and monitored my temp in case of need to go to ER. I noticed the very early onset of some sinus congestion a few hours after the onset of the fever though my temp started going down. I re-dosed with 2 of each pill every hour or so until my fever went down to 102°F and went to bed. Woke up at 100°F and continued the pills until the next day, when I woke up at 97.9°F (my normal temp) and feeling relatively normal, with no sign of sinus infection, THANK G*D. Today I am taking 2 olive leaf pills every six hours or so. Quercetin has always helped me with flu symptoms but never as quickly as this combination, particularly when the respiratory issues started kicking in, so I have to credit the olive leaf.Turns out there is a fair amount of research on olive leaf extract's many benefits but here are some references to its antivral and anticancer activity:•The olive leaf extract exhibits antiviral activity against viral haemorrhagic septicaemia rhabdovirushttp://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15869811• Olea europaea leaf extract improves the treatment response of GBM stem cells by modulating miRNA expression.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25232498• Olive (Olea europaea) leaf extract induces apoptosis and monocyte/macrophage differentiation in human chronic myelogenous leukemia K562 cells: insight into the underlying mechanism.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24389114• Differential metabolomic analysis of the potential antiproliferative mechanism of olive leaf extract on the JIMT-1 breast cancer cell line.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25560707EDIT 4/28/15: I've tried everything in an effort to manage IBS pain and everything has given me varying levels of relief- all of it temporary. Ever since I took the Olive Leaf extract I have not had a single episode despite discontinuing its use after the flu symptoms went away. . I should add that I've also been taking Bladderwrack so it's unclear which is responsible.
