2 years later, still works like a champ!
I don't often write reviews, but I felt it was needed for this little portable bass amp that I love so much! It has been 2 years since I bought this, and everything still works 100%. I rarely use the adaptor as the battery life with the 6aa batteries is awesome; I literally get 3-4 months of regular playing out of one set of batteries! I've played small acoustic gigs with this, practice wearing headphones, and jam along with my smartphone, and it has been great! Not to mention it is incredibly light weight and easy to carry using a guitar strap. I have played this cool little amp alot and it has held up perfectly with no problems. If you turn it up too loud, the speaker will distort, which is to be expected. But it is just loud enough to play nicely with an acoustic guitar and singer. My speaker still sounds great after 2 years. Be realistic about the sound; it's not going to rival my small 25w Fender Rumble, but it sounds good to me! Fingerstyle, picking, slap and pop all sound nice! If this somehow died tomorrow (which I highly doubt) I would 100% buy another one. This little amp has been one of the best music gear purchases Ive made in a long time. I also recently bought their pocket bass amp for use with headphones and it's also fantastic! I think Joyo makes awesome reliable gear at a great price! Just have realistic expectations for what you pay. I will gladly support Joyo and recommend their gear to others!!

Perfect for playing with acoustic guitars
I bought this so I could jam in the park with acoustic guitar players. It has just enough volume to work well. I have to use the gain on the clean channel to get it loud enough. I also need to really tweek the tone setting on my bass to get a good sound otherwise the speaker will crap out. The tone knob on mine must be faulty. I don't hear any difference no matter how I set it. I decided not to return it through considering how inexpensive it was. Otherwise I might have rated it 5 stars. The drive channel is kind of useless to me. It gives it a fuss bass sound. The aux in can sound really good with good quality mp3 player. It can have a really good low end. What I really like is the battery life. So far I've been playing it for about ten hours on a new set of Everready rechargeable batteries. This is a good product for the money. It's a nice light portable practice amp. Update: the tone control works. I tried my acoustic guitar. It just doesn't make any difference on my basses. Active or passive pickups don't make a difference. The acoustic guitar sounds great with this amp. It produces a very clear clean sound that can fill a decent size room.

Great practice amp. Small but more than sufficient.
Bought this amp for my daughter to practice on her mini-bass guitar and found myself using it as a travel amp for myself. It is great for trips where you want to practice/play but not lug around a big, heavy amp. Not sufficient for gigs but perfect for practicing or jams in intimate spaces where being too loud is not ideal.

Decent value. Dangerously light.
The first thing I noticed was how lightweight it is. You might want to put the batteries in just to add a little weight to keep it on the counter. Simple inputs are nice but some added features like Bluetooth connectivity would have been five stars. I get that it’s a simple amp for traveling and what-not but maybe throw us a bone. Ditch the cheesy LED logo and throw in some Bluetooth. It sounds surprisingly nice given its size and weight. Like the other reviewers, I agree it’s not very loud, for me it’s perfect. I can practice in the living room and not rumble my wife out of the room or wake up the neighbors. Be careful not to drag it off onto the floor because it’s really lightweight sitting on a counter top. Overall value is good but if you need something to project sound outdoors maybe go for something that’s a little more $ like an Orange. Enjoy.

Great practice and beginner amp on the market.
This a great practice amp and think it could hold its own in a small group setting. I had the Blackstar fly bass amp since 2019 (3 watt amp). I thought it would be great little thing but it doesn't hold up to this Joyo 10watt. Honestly it dose feel cheap I mean at this price point F*** what do you expect. And it is simple to use and it would be great for any beginner or someone who wants to get the hell out of a there house and play somewhere else. I mean you're not going use it at a gig or fill a concert room with this little device. I don't know why people have negative reviews on it cuz it is good quality (pretty much everything is made out of plastic nowadays) to get some practice time to able to hear yourself play and not freak out the neighbors and not annoy anyone in the household this is a great little app. It gives low end which I like compared to the Blackstar fly. And I'm not going to feel bad if it ever breaks honestly and if someone who wants to borrow it or try it out it's not going to break the bank for me. This is strictly for practicing bottom line. If you're expecting to be a professional equipment. DREAM ON. But if you need to practice get your time this is the f****** time to get. To all the trolls stop crying. If you want a pro level amp go spend the money if you want the f****** good amp. But if you need one to practice don't spend a lot don't even spend a hundred. Get this amp. Around $50. Even if it's for a kid at least you're not in the hole. Anyway I hope this review helps everybody. Cuz I can tell you I suddenly love this thing right now. And I keep it at my bed stand. As long I can plug and play and I can hear my instrument I don't care.

So if you're looking at this product the chances are you're wanting to be able to have a little amp to practice bass at home, and ideally you wouldn't spend a fortune. So I'll get to the point: 1. Does it sound good? Yes - actually the tone is great, I do not use the drive channel as that's not my thing personally. However the clean channel really sounds like my bass :) 2. How loud is it? Loud enough to not be able to hear your bass acoustically BUT (and this is a good thing) you need to be close to the amp and it needs to be facing you really. This means you can play at what seems like a decent volume, without annoying anyone ele (mostly) I crank the volume to full, then add gain about half way - all good. 3. Does it run ok on batteries? Yes - in fact that is the only way I'm using it. I have good quality (2300ma) re-chargeable batteries and it works and sounds great. 4. Is it worth it? Yes with a but. It really depends on what your need is. If this is to be your amp and you hope to gig in pubs etc, then this is NOT the product for you. However, if you are looking for something JUST to use around the house, get a decent tone and not make everyone around you crazy, then YES - this is perfect. It's crazy that we've gotten to a point with technology that something so small and cheap can perform so well. 5 stars from me (for the very specific use case of just around the house)
