Works after a day for me
The first day of spraying it, it did not work it was like he loved the smell even more. I was upset. THE NEXT DAY my cat was nowhere near my leather recliner. Underneath is where he usually goes and hides not this time. I sprayed a lot. I bought the original scent. Smokey’s a year and a half. I even had a visitor today which he hates and he picked another hiding spot which is unheard of.

Does not work
I have sprayed this on my furniture and it has had no effect on either of my two cats. They practically lick it off as they scratch.

Worked well at first, but smell is overpowering for people too and wears off too quickly
My cat is absolutely relentless with scratching up the couches and carpeted stairs, and literally nothing I have tried has worked. I have purchased soooooo many scratcher things to redirect him -- all different shapes, sizes, orientations, and materials -- and I've tried using catnip and catnip spray and feliway relaxer diffusers and tape and aluminum foil and nope. Nothing. He will sometimes scratch the scratchers, but his go-to continues to be the sides and creases of the couches and the edges of the stairs. Catnip seems to have no effect on him and I've yet to find a scratcher that mimics the couch fabric closely enough.I was desperate and was hoping this spray would be the solution. I got the lavender scent in hopes it wouldn't be as overpowering as citrusy smells can be. I was disappointed and shocked at how strong the scent was -- not only did one spritz deter my cat from the whole room, it also kept me out as well. It wasn't an unpleasant smell, just a super strong one. Maybe a different scent wouldn't have done this? It makes sense it would be strong, I guess I just didn't realize it would be quite so intrusive.Anyway, once the initial strength wore down enough to go in the room, it did seem to keep him from scratching. He'd go to the couch, sniff, grimace, and walk away. But about an hour later, he'd be back and the scent would be completely gone. At first I kept re-spritzing when this happened in hopes of training him off these places for the long run. But this became so tedious and frustrating, and on top of that the scent was no longer very tolerable to me after so many uses.Again, it did work a bit. Maybe other scents work better, and it probably depends a lot on the cat. This just wasn't the solution for us, and I guess I'll keep searching.

Works as described.
It has a very light scent. Seems to be working. We also purchased sone catnip and srayed it where we want our cat to be. Just super sad about the damage she already did to the new couch before getting the spray. She has never been a furniture scratcher till recently.

Bought this to keep the cat off my Christmas tree
I purchased this in hopes that it would keep my cat off my Christmas tree. I have collected Hallmark ornaments since 1982 and I have hundreds of them on my tree. Well last year the cat climbed the tree and tipped it over and many of my ornaments broke and I was heart broken. This year we did tie the tree to the wall behind it just in case the spray did not work we would be ready. My son sprayed my tree skirt and also the lower branches of the tree. The cat went under the tree twice but never tried climbing it. My tree stays up from Dec. till the end of Jan. and the cat has not bothered it at all. I love this spray and I tell everyone about it. Want to keep your cat off of something use this spray.

Great product for keeping cats off furniture
I am pleasantly surprised that this product actually worked and worked as promised! I have a multi-cat household. Our couch is covered with a couch/furniture cover. To keep my cats off the couch I purchased the Cat Guard Pro Pet Safe Furniture Cat Repellent spray. I sprayed this on the couch cover in the morning and again at night - doing this every day for about 2 straight weeks. My cats have stayed off the furniture! I am now only spraying my furniture/furniture covers 2 or 3 times a week. It is oily and when I first started using it, I sprayed the product very heavy. The oils from the product did leave an oily residue on the furniture cover and onto my clothes and hands. But, when I washed my couch/furniture cover and my clothes - the oils came right out and did not leave any stains. Spraying a lighter spray solved the problem of an oily residue.PRO: works exactly as it says it does, pleasant smell, multiple scents to choose fromCON: it is oily (spray it lightly to avoid oily residue) and a little expensive but I felt it was worth the price if it worked & kept my cats off my furniture

Does not work at all.
I bought this because my cat has a horrible problem of pawing on my door all night, making it impossible to have a solid nights sleep. Door closed and he's in it, paws till it opens. He's out of the room, paws to get it. Have a door stop? He paws at the door till the door stop comes loose, closes the door, then paws at that. I bought this because it was supposed to repel him from doing this, so I applied some do the door before I went to bed. Not even an hour later, he's pawing and meowing at the door. I get up, reapply, half an hour again he's doing the same. This did absolutely NOTHING. Waste of money.
