Prime-Line E 2162 3/4 In. Steel Zinc-Plated Tailpiece with White-Painted Diecast Latch (Single Pack)

I got very lucky I found this item it looked like in the picture exactly like the one that broke off on my sliding glass door. I watched a YouTube video before ordering onHow to replace this latch mechanism and it looked pretty simple. I literally had to remove two screws pull the old mechanism out put the new one in put the handle back on and it totally works. This may not be the case for everyone as I know sliding glass doors are made by many different manufacturers but for me this under five dollar product saved me hundreds and not having to replace my entire door.

My patio door latch broke and it has the kind of latch that sits under the handle. This was the perfect replacement. So happy with this quick and easy part replacement. The stem of the old one had broken inside, so I just took needle nose pliers to take it out then put in this new piece and rescrewed the handle back on. Couldn't be easier.

My original door part had a rounded base (that goes under the handle), and this one has defined corners on the edges of the base. No matter, it works perfectly, after having checked that the basic measurements provided match those of my original. There are slight visual differences, that make no difference in the appearance or function when installed. It isn't machined to watch part specifications, but it doesn't need to be, it works smoothly, and is comfortable to the touch. It was easy to install, and together with a replacement mechanism, my slider now opens and closes with ease, and latches securely, as it should! Perfect fit worked great

This was a great quick fix for the broken latch on my friend's sliding door. I had to file a tiny bit off, but that was because its meant for a different type of door than what I used it for. It's already held up better than the original.

This metal part replaced a vinyl lever which broke after years of wear and tear. The internal portion of my doorhandle required some very minor trimming to ensure the lever fit and move properly but otherwise installation was simple and it works as well or better than the original lever.

Ordered this because my patio door broke. Went to local hardware store and was looking at having to purchase a whole kit that was going to cost me almost $100. Arrived quickly and worked like a charm!
