I have been using Calcium Chloride in my damp trap boxes for the past 8 years. To this day I don't have 1 mould mark in my bathroom, I have never had to clean any mould nor have I have to re-silicone the bathroom. These damp crystals are so effective. Mould and damp in the bathroom can cause chronic breathing issues hence this is a cheap way to keep the bathroom mould free. A 25kg bag lasts me around 18 months, so this is a cost effective way. £30 a year and half to keep my bathroom free from mould is a very good investment, it's the insurance policy for mould.

…I plan to refill passive dehumidifying tubs of calcium chloride with it. Already comes open presumably to prevent gas build up if it gets wet and eventual popping but that opening is well folded over so I didn’t have any spillage. It now lives in a kitchen cupboard and hopefully the damp in that wall is not actually that bad that I will need to deal with a lot of weak hydrochloric acid in that bag soon otherwise it may make a mess and I’ll have to splash out for a dehumidifier.

I used to buy individual damp control containers which used sooooo much plastic on a monthly basis. Buying this sack has massively cut down on that and I use the bag it comes in at the end for waste disposal too. It's very effective.
