Skar Audio SK1X12V Single 12" Universal Fit Ported Subwoofer Enclosure

I don't write reviews very often, but wow. Coming from a smaller sealed box to this bad boy really did 2x the bass. Running a Kicker 1200.1 to a 1,000 watt Turrantula T12 subwoofer. It sounds like 2 12" 600 watt rms subs now!!

I am happy to say this is good quality subwoofer box it works great. Awesome bass sound and comes with wiring for speaker 🔊 for easy install.

I used to build boxes, but what's the point when I can buy something better for lower price than I can built it anyways? This little cubes are great, I have 2 with SVR-12's in them, drop-in fit and they absolutely POUND. Great boxes, I have the 10" boxes in another car and they are just as good.

Switched over from a sealed box to this ported box. My bass has almost doubled! I don’t enjoy blasting music high volume I usually keep it in the 50% range and the bass perfectly compliments the sound of the music. With sealed box I had to really crank up the sound to even feel the bass and it was honestly annoying. With ported I can actually feel the bass hit which is more enjoyable at lower volumes. Deep bass especially. If you listen to drum & bass, hardstyle or any type of EDM and hip hop, I highly reccomend switching over to a ported box. I am running an Infinity reference 1270 woofer with this box. Recommended cubic ft of sound was at 2.5 for this sub but this box at 2.0 works just fine. Only issue was that my subwoofer was too large for the box so I did some minor cutting with a saw blade and then will just spray paint the exposed wood black which is no biggie. Box is nice and heavy and you can tell it’s good quality. If you have a Hyundai Genesis coupe you will have to remove the plastic trim in the truck to be able to fit this box in the trunk….. it still took some work to fit it in even after removing the trim but it will fit. If you remove the spare tire, box will go right in with no problem. The box is a lot larger in person but again it’s rated at 2 cubic ft. This box will really show true potential of your sub especially if you are currently running sealed. I also highly reccomend to retune ur amp gain and crossover to avoid distortion and potential damage to ur subwoofer. It is easy to do with the SMD distortion and crossover calibration device but there are other ways as well which you can just find on YouTube which is a way cheaper route. Cheers

I have zero complaints about this box. High quality construction, no sound leakage. Inside comes with dampening already attached for improved sound quality, overall an amazing deal at the price. Sounds way better than the 1 cubic foot ported box i was using before.

Well built box, quality wire inside to hook up the sub, but the mounting ring of my Rockford Fosgate P3 12 did not fit between the overhangs of the top and bottom. I had to chisel about 1/4 inch of the MDF from the top overhang to mount the sub. Once it was in, I glued the carpet back down over the chisel section to hide it. Otherwise, it’s very good, great response around its tuning frequency, and looks quite nice. Chose this box as it was one of the few I could find here with a large enough internal volume for this particular sub and was made out of good thick MDF. I could have built one, and I have in the past, but I find myself short of the time necessary to build one these days. Overall I’m fairly happy with the purchase.

Easily doubled my output, really picks up the low deep notes. I tuned my amp to match the HZ of the sub and box and it almost sounds like a 15". Crazy part is im only using like 380 watts of my Skar amp. I can only imagine what another 250 watts would do. The wires in the box are really nice. Only complaint is the cutout is almost to big. It was difficult to center it with out fastening it thru the edge of the cutout. I thought itd be perfect because it's Skar and my sub is Skar but it's also advertised as a "Univeral" box.
