Cannot go to work without this pen
I have been using the Pilot Multi-Pen, Hi-Tec-C Coleto 1000 for years in my job as a nurse, and it has truly been a game-changer for my charting tasks.Pros: • Versatile Multi-Pen: This pen allows me to switch between different ink colors quickly, which is incredibly useful for color-coding my notes and charts. • Precise Writing: The 0.3mm size ink is perfect for fine, detailed writing. It helps keep my notes clear and legible, even in small spaces. • Customizable: I love that I can customize the pen with different ink colors and sizes. This flexibility means I can tailor it to my exact needs. • Comfortable to Use: The design is ergonomic and comfortable for long periods of writing, which is essential for my long shifts. • Reliable Performance: Over the years, I’ve found this pen to be consistently reliable. It writes smoothly without skipping or blotching.Cons: • Ink Capacity: The ink cartridges are small, so they need to be replaced fairly often with heavy use. • Price: It’s a bit more expensive than standard pens, but the quality and convenience justify the cost.Overall, the Pilot Multi-Pen, Hi-Tec-C Coleto 1000 has made my charting life so much easier. I can’t go to work without one. If you’re looking for a high-quality, customizable pen for precise writing tasks, I highly recommend it!

Better than the 5-unit body!
This 4-unit multi-pen body was purchased as a replacement for a defective 5-unit body. This model is slimmer, but importantly is stronger in design. The 5-unit model had a thin and brittle transparent plastic mid-section that shattered. This 4-unit model is made of the normal opaque and heavy duty plastic that I expect will prove more durable. I no longer need the fifth unit as I’m retired and grade no more papers. As a musician, having both a pencil and eraser unit in the pen is critical, the ink pen is for signatures. As an older person, I wish the pencil unit took 0.9 mm leads for visibility and legibility, but softer 0.5 mm leads are my workaround. The sleek all-black 4-unit body is better looking than the 5-unit mixed-plastics model too! I could move to a 3-unit body if that allowed a 0.9 mm pencil unit to be produced! My only complaint about both pen bodies is that the selected unit sometimes retracts unexpectedly while writing. That may be more an issue with the refill design rather than the body.

Great multi pen
I have quite a few customizable multi pens. This is another winner. If you take care on lining up the refills, you can get them all to pop up easily. There is a little notch on the topper that goes in first. Make sure it is lined up, it’s part be feeling, and it will pop open and closed easily. Do this for each one. The topper being part of the refill is the main advantage of a Coleto. The cap, if opened carefully, will be fine. However, it could be seen as the not so advantageous. Too much force might eventually break it. So far, all my Coleto pens are fine.

One tiny annoyance in an otherwise great pen
I have the dumbest annoyance with this pen. I love everything about it except for one tiny thing, but for me it's a deal breaker. When you have one of the inks down and you're writing with it, the tip of the pen is ever so slightly skewed to one side, because the pen inks have to bend in order for there to be multiple colors within the pen body. I assume if you're someone who likes this type of multicolor pen, this is something you're probably familiar with and maybe do not mind. But for me, it really ruined the experience of writing with the pen. That being said, everything else about the pen is great! The grip is nice, smooth textured and easy to hold. I would prefer a slightly skinnier grip, but considering that there are 4 different inks inside the pen the size of it is based on that and it's a lot skinnier than other pens I've seen with multiple inks. The mechanism to swap the inks out is really great, seems sturdy and unlikely to break and feels good. No fiddly messing around with unscrewing something or anything like that, just snap open the top and push your inks in and you're good to go. Switching between colors feels good, though sometimes if you don't push a new color down just right it doesn't stick on the first try. All in all I would absolutely love this pen, if only the tip would be centered when you go to write with it.

Very nice pen.
The media could not be loaded. Very smooth .038 tip pen. Writes well and erases completely. While it writes like a pen, the Ink flow is similar to a Jelly-roll pen. There is one fundamental design flaw. While other Frixion single-color pens are capped to prevent the ink from drying out, these multi-color pens are not. Hence, the ink dries out < 1 year. A mechanism to seal the barrel is imperative if Pilot wants this pen to compete with BIC and other multi-color pens. As annoying as this is, I enjoy this pen enough to spend a few $ on refills when they go dry.

Love this pen=looks classier than the Bic 4-color pen. Inks last at least 2 months w/ every day use
Most important, I am surprised how long the ink lasts.7 week update:This is my main work pen; use it basically every day; have yet to change any of the four ink inserts==8 + week update 10/27/2022Finally ran out of ink with the Blue.I mainly use Blue and Black inks for my workBlack ink still has some time leftI recommend even stronger than before==

Good, sturdy-working pen
I have been using the Pilot Coleto pens for a few years, and this barrel seems to be the sturdiest one I've come across so far. I have had no luck with the 5-slot barrels that I've purchased here on Amazon, typically sold as a 3-pack, or in conjunction with the refills (usually a refill set of 15 colors); they seem to be made of thin plastic that feels like it will break where the top portion is connected to the lower portion (and it has). Not this 4-slot barrel, though. This one is constructed way better than some of my 3-slot barrels; it feels slimmer, but sturdier. An added bonus that I really appreciate is the rubbery section where the fingers actually hold the pen: it just feels better while writing, rather than just holding plastic (just a quirk of mine, as I am left-handed and a bit particular with what works for my odd ways of holding pens). Highly recommended.

I love Pilot!
I love all the Pilot pens I’ve tried. I especially love the Coleto as I can have multiple colors in one pen for on the go journalling or planning. I can switch seemlessly between colors and interchange when I like. Ink is smooth which is so important as the tip is so thin.

inkless pen
I ordered a set of ballpoint pens, but upon receiving the package, I discovered that the pens only consist of the pen body and do not include any ink cartridges. This omission of ink cartridges renders the pens unusable. I am quite dissatisfied with this situation, as I expected fully functional pens.

Best customisable multi pen
This pen is customisable. That means you can choose from the many colourful refill options available to refill the pen as per one's choice. This is only the pen body. Refills are available separately.

Great Pen, Great Customizations
Great pen, I haven't used for prolonged continuous writing session so comfort may be an issue. But, over the past few weeks the ink hasn't skipped for me, which annoys the heck out of me when it happens with other pens. The other thing I love about this is the ease in which I can switch out the pen cartridges, as with other multi color pens where it is a pain.Overall great pen I use it almost everyday.

Item arrived filthy
Item does not look, like new item.Pen arrived in poor and filthy condition, dirt and residue found all over the grip of pen, what looks to be liquid paper smeared on ink selector. Package indicates this is a new item, but wear very prevalent. Not satisfied, will be asking for refund.
