Strong, sturdy cake tin
The media could not be loaded. This is a really good, sturdy 8” cake tin. The spring works well & can be attached to base whilst base is flat on your cooking side…no juggling whilst trying to get it together. It is quite heavy but I find that reassuring…it doesn’t warp so there’s no risk of bending/ distorting your cake. I have used it several times to make cheesecake…both cooked & uncooked so have tested it in the fridge & oven. For the sake of honesty there are a couple of things that could be improved, although these don’t affect the quality of the tin, I’ll explain them so you can decide if they would affect your choice. I’ve attached a couple of pics that hopefully highlight these issues for you.1) There is a slight rim on the base which can affect how you get things off it. Whilst it would help with reducing leakage I find it quite tricky to remove things such as cheesecake biscuit base. I would imagine cakes would be a bit easier but even with a grease proof lining I had to slip a knife blade between the base of the tin & the dessert & lift slightly to slide it out. Would be better if it was completely flat but that would probably affect the tins integrity.2) Around the bottom of the top & the tin (where the two pieces join) there is a shallow area where food/ water can accumulate. This can be quite tricky to clean & would be unhygienic if you had food stuck in there. I find an (unused) toothbrush is a good way to get any food debris out.I have arthritis and cerebral palsy but as you can see in my video it is easy to assemble one handed even with physical issues.Even with a couple of small issues I absolutely LOVE this tin!! #Recommend

Disappointing manufacturing
Bought this as a top of the range item. It’s good and heavy but the edge of the loose bottom is poorly cramped on the underside. NOT a great item from the Stellar brand.

Take the hook off !
Very good product but I forgot to remove the black plastic hook, so of course this melted in the oven and broke off. It would help if it was a metal hook.
