HIVIZ NVLW01 Novak 1911 Interchangeable LITEWAVE Front Handgun Sight , Black

This steel front sight is pretty unmistakable compared to the plain steel white-dot sight that came from the factory. A bit of filing with a small diamond file allowed easy installation with a sight pusher. Light-gathering plastic inserts are interchangeable, and have stayed put so far after several hundred rounds.

Catches the light well from when I looked at it in person. Reducing a star simply because it doesn't fit my PM7 so had to return it.Even after 2 hours of filing couldn't get it to fit. Wish I could not give a star rating (left a 4 star) as I couldn't really test the product. I had no problem with the sight itself. It seems well built as I put a lot of stress on it try to push it in and it took the beating just fine. Worth a try if you have a different 1911 as you can always return it. Don't bother if you have a PM7 though.

I put this on a Sig Sauer 1911. There's a fair amount of confusion on whether these sights conform to "Novak" dimensions and whether Sig Sauer is also true to Novak dovetail specs. I was finally able to confirm the dimensions of the cut with Sig Sauer Customer Support and ordered these sights after confirming they aligned with the propietary cut used by Sig Sauer. With the use of an inexpensive gun block, brass punch set and hammer I was able to install these in about 10 minutes. I used some blue loc-tite (I may follow up later with red, if I notice any drift) to keep them in place long term. Otherwise, installation was simple and easy with the right tools.For those with a Sig Sauer, they use a roll pin to stake the front sight in place (I used the hole to aid in alignment). With a decent set of vise covers to prevent marring the slide, I was able to remove the roll pin with a 1/16 roll punch and then drift the front sight without too much trouble.

No light at all. Not a good product

Received sight in record time. Got it fitted to a RIA 22 TCM slide. Took me two hours of filing and stoning to fit. Results are excellent and hi viz sights are brighter than some others. Depending on gun you will need patience, files, stones, calipers and a good eye. That is why gunsmiths charge a lot. I am retired so have more time than money.

didn't fit , very poorly made

I replaced the factory front sight on a Rock Island full size 1911 in 9mm.There was some fitting involved but nothing a little time, knowledge and correct tool could not handle.Remember, once you start to file on the sight, it is nolonger returnable and you NEVER want to take any metal off of the slide sight dovetail.

I reviewed before saying ordered a front site got a rear site that was marked a front site from the store, was told that's not allowed and told to edit because it may not happen to others. But my opinion of the seller, packaging, and product may not be the same as others either.But the rear sight is a very nice bright sight will work well on a different application. However, it doesn't fit on the front for the application that I purchased it for.
