There's a bunch of crazy people in the reviews talking about chemicals and not reef friendly, but I don't know where they get their information. They site no source, they just claim they're right. If you're worried about the reef make sure to avoid all these things before entering the ocean: sunscreen, deodorant, make up, nail polish, soap, shampoo, and do not fart with your anus submerged if you've consumed beans, cabbage or vinegar within the last 24 hours. If this company was lying to you on their bottle about being reef friendly they would be sued and forced to remove those labels. If people lie to you in the Amazon review section they get paid . . . Anyway, this stuff it good. Its better than Sun Bum, which runs white all over your body, super thick and hard to spread, clogs pores, and offers no protection from the sun. Panama Jack has no smell, doesn't run, spreads easily, and my skin feels fine after hours in the sun. Those are the important factors of a sun screen.

The sunscreen itself works really well. I wanted something that would protect my skin but still let me get a nice shade. It goes on evenly and smoothly and protected my skin quite well. This has a medicine like smell, though. Almost a little menthol, but it doesn’t have a tingly sensation. I didn’t think I would be able to get past the smell, but I did. This is a great lotion for poolside

Panama Jack Sunscreen Tanning Lotion SPF 8. I purchased this while on Maui and this was the only brand I could get of ANY SPF 8 lotion shipped. I am not sure why they ban all but this brand - I was thinking it was coral safe/ not safe - but that is not it. In any case, I got it and it worked. I don't like it as well as my favorite brand - but it worked. It's white cream. Scent faintly tropical. Top of bottle has a flip top/squeeze application. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. I also refuse to 'change' my review for a refund of a product I have given a poor review - and that is offered from time to time. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible - so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). It's a shame they phased this rating system out because it did help you see who has been around the longest and who is a trustworthy reviewer. I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - over 6,200 reviews posted, those reviews have been viewed well over 50,000 times, including well over 26,000 likes. BOTTOM LINE: I pay for all my stuff, just like you do.

I was very amazed that this vegan suntan lotion held up for 5 hours in the scorching Florida sun. I will burn without sunblock. But I would definitely advise re-applying it at least once during the 5 hour period and maybe more if you going into the ocean. I don’t sweat very much but I could see a possible issue if a person did. It has a very light consistency which is better for cooler climates.

Easy to order. Came quickly. My favorite product for many years. I am fair skinned. Have never gotten burned but also get pretty, medium color. I love, love, love it. Thank you!
