Easy to wear cooling hood
I used this for keeping the sun and heat off when mowing. It does its job. Is it just a piece of cloth that you get wet and use to keep cool? Yes. Could you do something similar with basic sewing skills? Probably. I found it easier and convenient to just buy it. It stays on and I like that there is a good amount of extra lengths on either side. Had enough to go under my shirt and help keep my back cool. I dont really feel the need for multiples but I did refresh it by rinsing it and putting it back on as I took breaks ever couple hours while mowing and weeding. It seems to be good quality and I expect it will last me years.

Keeps you cool in the sun.
This hood really works. I work outside in the sun and it helped big time. I would recommend it if you work outside.

Better for indoor use (with no AC) than for outdoors
How much you like this towel is going to depend on how you use it and under what conditions...The ideal use is indoors, at home or in an office with no air conditioning. I got it for the Pacific Northwest heatwave and it's absolutely helping keep me cool working from home with no air conditioning. The cooling effect lasts 45 minutes to an hour before I need to rewet it. When I wear it outdoors in direct sunlight, it dries out in 15 minutes. If you're not under direct sunlight, you might get 30 minutes of cooling at best. So this might have some utility if you're going for a quick walk around the block, to get the mail, take out the trash, etc. Don't expect it to hold up for anything longer, like yard work or attending a baseball game.Is it overpriced? Sure. They're charging double what this product is ideally worth, given how useless it is for any kind of extended outdoor use. Even indoors, you need to avoid wearing a neck fan, as that will dry it out super-fast, as will wearing it too close to regular fans. And the whole "snapping" thing seems like a waste of time gimmick. I don't think it makes any difference... might as well yell, "Abracadabra!" for all the good it does.As pointed out in other reviews, the long tails (split design) will be a pain (and possibly dangerous) for anyone who frequently bends over while working. But if you work at a desk, you can just tuck the tails into your shirt and you'll be fine (plus it keeps your chest cooler).Don't get me wrong. This product has value. It's a good idea, but either the company cheaped out on the design or the technology isn't there yet to properly turn it into a hoodie. I'd give it 1 star for outdoor use, but 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars for indoor use. It works pretty good indoors--quite comfortable and pleasant to wear--but having to rewet it every 45 minutes to an hour is annoying. Still, glad I bought it for this heatwave, even if it is overpriced.

Keeps you cool
I like that it helps me stay cool in the heat just as advertised. The only problem I have with it is that it tends to slip off of my head so I would say make sure to combine it with a cap. As far as drying time is considered I would say it dries pretty quickly after use of you just hang it up especially if it's in the sun. While wearing it it will get a little dry after around 3 to 4 hours in my own personal experience with it but for maximum cooling I would wet it after 2 hours of use.

Its... OK.
Its is the cooling fabric, and it is sewn together well. But it really doesn't sit on your head or look as good as advertised. The back isn't solid, it kind of comes down to the back of your skull then splits. So you end up with a massive clump of fabric hanging over each side of your chest. This makes the hood close up a bit on your face, causes extra weight (and swing when running), and also causes all of the water in the hood to all run down into the 'clumps' on your chest and drench the front of you.The fabric is really thin also, thinner then a couple other cooling towels I own. My other ones are just towels, not a hood type, so they always seemed to fall off and fit badly when I tried to run. This one fits ok, but the thin fabric loses all the water (wetness) and dry out fast, losing that cooling effect completely. So my opinion... its just OK. It really could have been a lot less of a price tag, it really isn't worth the $20 USD I paid for it. Again, stitching is good, but the fabric is thin. Dries out and loses its cooling ability really quickly. And the back being split and not even coming down over my neck... really didn't like that.

As a bald dude, this works
I LOVE This thing.....long story short, much like other men out there who've lost their hair and can't find it again, I've started just accepting it, and getting that close shave to the dome. I carry this in my walking bag as well as my boonie hat. I love the fact that this is used 90% of the time while in the heat, just dip in water stay cool, keeps the sun off your neck as well, its been great, Love this for under my helmet for street riding as well.

Works Great!
I have an issue with fast heart rate when I'm playing golf in temps over like 80 degrees. Keeping my head cool fixes that. This hood works fantastic. I can keep playing golf year-round now!
