Tojiro Bread Slicer 270mm F-687

Overall I am extremely happy with this! I took some time to decide, looking at a large number of reviews from various suppliers and covering various knives - I make a lot of sourdough bread and needed a knife to cope with thick strong crust. Also, I was willing to pay good money for something that I'd treasure. This knife is really beautiful and also beautifully sharp. It slices through bread with a great deal of ease though I'd be lying if I said I still didn't on some occasions have to give a little extra effort at the very base of a loaf with a challenging crust! This was in my price bracket and I suspect as about as good as you'd get for that price. It's not Yoshihiro let's be honest but also several hundreds cheaper than those (or thousands!). The presentation box it comes with is really nice and it has an extra inner sheath for your draw. The only one slight 'thing' is (and this depends solely on you) - it's quite light - it disarms you at first and there is a bit of flex when it cuts through heavier loaves. It arrived to my work address and I let a friend opened it for me - her first comments were - "oh wow... it's beautiful / scarily sharp... quite light in your hand though...."That said - and this is obviously the key thing - if you have say a Tiger loaf and cut it with this knife - it's like cutting though water!!!!

Bought this knife as I needed a new one after having a wusthof for 5 years that was brilliant too.This is sharp. A little flexible/ thin so let’s see how long it last. 👍🏻

It took six weeks to get to the UK and it was well worth the wait . I would recommend this knife to anyone . It's razor sharp and cuts bread with ease . I'm very impressed. And at this price it's an absolute bargain and 100% genuine . Edit I have had two of these knives over the years still have them both the initial price was far cheaper making this knife value for money . However with the constant price increase I’d probably look for another alternative good knife great edge retention but after extended use the blade becomes very flexible hence why I’ve had to buy more than one . I would buy another one just not at the current price even if it is now on prime

Goes through bread, rolls, and bagels like they were (soft) butter. Worth the premium price.

This thing slices like a dream, never seen a factory edge on a serrated knife you can literally shave with! Feels cheap and cheerful but weight is deceiving once you start cutting, digs in to the slice as soon as you move with very few crumb loss! So good I've bought 2 of them for when this one gives up.
