Avocado Oil & Sea Salt Popped Sorghum

Delicious! I am not a big popcorn fan, and don’t typically eat it because of low nutritional value and high carbs. I decided to give sorghum a try - high protein content, low sugar, good dose of fiber, what’s not to like? I’ve got plain avocado oil and sea salt. It is wonderful! I can’t stop eating it. The kernels are smaller than popcorn but there are no hard ones. It tastes very much like popcorn but better. The texture is very pleasant, first crunchy and then soft. It is a bit expensive but I will definitely buy again.

Nature Nate’s Popped Sorghum is like popcorn’s healthier, cuter cousin. Crunchy, light, and just the right amount of salty. The avocado oil gives it a clean taste and I don’t feel guilty finishing the whole bag in one sitting (which I totally did 😭). Perfect for keto or just plain snacking!

It has a very pleasant taste. I'm having a small amount each day to see how my digestive system likes it. Very worth trying and it could be good for one, as corn products are in everything else.

I have a lot of dietary restrictions (dairy, soy, and gluten primarily). Within the past few years, I also have realized that corn does not agree with me either. As a popcorn lover, avoiding it honestly may have been the most annoying part about my restrictions, as most everything else seems to have an allergen-friendly equivalent. Therefore, when I discovered popped sorghum, I was thrilled, though hesitant. I ordered the Avocado Oil and Sea Salt flavor (and ate half of the bag upon its arrival). I believe I read some reviews stating that their bag wasn’t as fresh. However, my bag was completely fine in that respect. The sorghum was good, although the flavor wasn’t as strong as most of its popcorn counterparts. Given the fact that I’m used to little flavoring (somehow my taste buds adapted to liking plain fruits and vegetables), it didn’t bother me that much. That said, I would have enjoyed a stronger flavor and know many people for whom the lack of flavor would be an instant no-go for them. I have since tried the vegan ‘cheezy’ flavor too. It wasn’t off putting, but I never liked cheese combined with popcorn in the first place. Therefore, that flavor is unfortunately a pass for me. I’ll stick with the Avocado Oil and Sea Salt flavor until the Rosemary is available in a single package. The best part about the sorghum is that it didn’t cause any gastrointestinal issues, like bloating, which was common when I ate popcorn. The bag design needs to be addressed though. Considering the size of each sorghum ‘kernel’, it would be much more functional if the sorghum came in a container (or at least a wider bag with a scoop).

I have intestinal issues that a lot of people have... and I love popcorn. I have looked and looked at this sorghum but haven't tried until now. I purchased three favorite separately - coconut oil & pink himilayan sea salt, extremely cheezy, and avocado oil and salt. This review is about the avocado oil and sea salt version. IN MY OPINION the avocado version tastes the most like actual tasty popcorn. The cheezy has a little bit of a grainy aftertaste that wasn't my favorite. The coconut oil version is very, very faintly sweet - MAYBE a teeny tiny tad of coconut? It's ok. Now, for ALL three the thing to note is how super tiny the kernels are! So tiny. It's a little hard to eat because it is so tiny. I am thinking about getting a spoon to eat it. It's hard to "pinch" like you do with popcorn because they are so tiny! 1/2 cup is a serving... All the flavors have the same calories in that 1/2 cup - 60. Honestly, it will be hard to eat just 1/2 a cup... but we'll see. There are three ingredients... organic sorghum... avocado oil... and sea salt. Gotta love something processed with only 3 ingredients. The use by date on my bag - 02-22-22. Sheesh. It won't last a week here! And that's without artificial preservatives. I am still on the fence about whether or not it will replace my love of popcorn, however, if it doesn't upset my stomach, it will win. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.

Ok....I WANTED to love this! I am trying to eat healthy and clean. I have been eating low carb/keto for about 12. years and am always looking for new products to spice up my food choices. I ordered this product and received it quite quickly and it arrived in great shape. The popped sorghum is much smaller than regular popcorn (I was prepared for that because I had read previous reviews). It is not a terrible taste at all. The problem I have with it is that it is really bland. It was seriously like eating almost nothing. It does have crunch and a slight nutty flavor but that was about it. It was not anything I would look forward to as far as eating a snack. I do feel like the product was fresh and appreciate the recloseable bag. MAYBE the other flavors would help!
