Hyundai self drive mower with rear roller
Had one of these Hyundai mowers before, self drive 4 wheel model, and found it a bit heavy to move about in my garden - 4 medium sections- so bought a lighter machine but it was good but not as good as the Hyundai. Previously I had a hand propelled Hayter with rear roller so decided to return to Hyundai am this self drive model with rear roller is still heavy but easier to use due to the roller and the extra weight produces an nice level cut and nice stripes. Good quality machine and well worth considering if you want one with a rear roller. Less expensive than som other similar on the market a delivered quickly and well packaged.

Powerful Mower with a Clean Cut
This is my first roller lawnmower, and overall I’m impressed. It was easy to assemble, the instructions were clear, and once running it provides a very clean, professional-looking cut. However, it’s much heavier than I expected, which makes it harder to manoeuvre, especially in a garden with lots of borders where turning or reversing is tricky. My garden is around 0.3 acre, and while the mower covers the space well, the layout means achieving neat stripes will be a bit of a challenge. I am hoping I will learn with time as I love the lawnmower. That said, it feels solid, works really well, and I do love the result – though in hindsight, a slightly smaller model might have been easier to handle. I got it in sale for £300 for cannot complain.

DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER...
Do not buy this mower unless you know IT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT. From the first cut, I found it was not as good as my Mountfield which I have had 10/15yrs. After the first cut, I contacted Hyundai, who responded incredibly quickly, but only to say that they would pass me to Technical Support....then, nothing. I chased, they apologised, and said not to worry, as it could be sent back, then, nothing. After several weeks, I have been told it can be sent back, but I will be charged 25% (not included in description)!!!!!!! So, why isn't it as good as my Mountfield SP460R? Simply, because this is a roller mower, with the expectation that it produces a beautiful striped lawn. IMO it does not, and I believe it to be the cutting height. Since investigating, I believe the Mountfield cuts down to 20mm, and the Hyundai cuts down to 25mm. You would think that 5mm is 'nothing', but evidently, it can be a big difference. After cuttting my lawn (in May), the collection box is almost empty and the lines are vague (can't see them as I am cutting). After a day, you can't really see them. NB I don't have a thick lush grass lawn. It has a lot of daisies and other weeds. It is also uneven. If you have a close to perfect lawn, and you haven't had a Mountfield, you might be happy with the cut. I have attached some pictures of the second week I tried; After cutting with Hyundai, and then my Mountfield. Note the content of the grass box next to the Mountfield. NB The phone camera contrast makes the stripes easier to see, 'to the eye' this is not good. Other than that, the mower starts well, but the speed is ridiculous. The slow setting feels like engine will cut out, and moving to the next 'notch' is way too fast, with little differentiation going to the highest setting. The instructions to setup the mower are very poor (generic, for other mowers). If you do buy it, don't tighten the nylon nuts/bolts until you are sure everything is in place. I had to dissemble it 2 or 3 times (note where the pull cord retainer is on the handle in relation to the cord on the engine). NB The instructions don't mention the hose connection for cleaning, and it was only while checking the Amazon description that I noticed the feature. I had to watch Youtube to see how to use it. I now see the Amazon description shows the cutting height. I have no idea if this was added after I complained, as I don't recall seeing it before. I am told that this is stated, and so I have no grounds to return the mower without being charged. I can't afford to simply give >£100 away, so I am stuck with an inadequate mower. So, if you don't know if the cutting height is a consideration, my advice is, go with a mower that GIVES YOU THE OPTION; allowing to go lower, and raise it when required (eg Mountfield S461R, which I wish I bought!)

A quiet, well performing, self propelled lawn mower at a great price.
This is a quiet, well performing, self propelled lawn mower with a number of nice features like the 'bag full' indicator. Assembly was easy and it was not as heavy as my Honda of similar specification. Not 5 stars because fitting and removing the bag is hampered by the cables and this should have been easy to avoid.

Lovely stripes
The assembly instructions could be a lot better. They are pretty dreadful really, and the handbook comes with several additional pieces of instructions because I suspect there have been complaints about this. However Hyundai need to do this properly as the mower has been designed and built to a much higher standard than the instructions. My mower started first time and gave me great stripes. It's easy to use. At first the accelerator lever didn't work...it was stuck on 'slow', but on a second cut a few days later it was working as it should. I think this is a great movwer and I'm very happy with the quality and design of the product. My lawn will love the cut too.

Great stripes, grass cutting and build quality
Bought to replace my Bosch mower that I overloaded and broke down. Followed YouTube assembly video which was much easier than reading the manual. The mower itself does a superb job in cutting the grass and giving great stripes plus the build quality is good. Takes some getting used to if you are not used to a self propelled mower but all in all I can’t fault it yet. Great mower for my 300 sqm garden. Does cut down the time to mow and has a brilliant bin size. No droppings unless it’s full. Would highly recommend it.

Brilliant machine.
Brilliant machine. Just unpacked and assembled. Put oil in and fuel. Pulled the engine over a couple of times without trying to start it, to get the oil pumping around the engine. Put the throttle into the "start/chock" position and it started first pull. Set to the run setting and the motor runs faultlessly. Verry quiet and no vibration. Defiantly recommend. Tim
