Just what I needed for a wired connection with my PS3.
I bought this 25' cable to use with my PS3 because WiFi wasn't cutting it when it came to PSN, Home, and online gaming, especially with Killzone 3. My PS3 was in the same room as my Verizon Fios router (20mbs download and 5mbs upload speeds), and the wireless connection STILL wasn't reliable. Used this cable with my PS3 and router, and PSN's performance dramatically improved. I went to the network settings internet setup and made a new profile for wired connection. During the internet test everything passed with my NAT type at 2, Download speed was 23mbs, and upload speed was 4.1mbs (on wireless it wasn't even half those speeds). When playing Killzone 3 on a wireless connection I would lag out and get that annoying "Network Connection" error message, but I played for about an hour with no lag at all. The game icons in the PS store load up almost instantly. I was able get into Home with no network errors, and everyone's Home avatar loaded up a lot faster. I hope this info helps people who are looking to improve their PSN experience. I have yet to try streaming video media with a program called PS3 Media Server. Read additional info for network tips that I did that may help improve PSN's performance.Additional Network Tips: If PSN's performance is poor then read the following tips that I did to improve it.1) Set up a static IP address for your PS3. You can find a step-by-step guide on portforward[DOT]com. On the main page go to "other guides", then "configuring a static IP address", then finally choose the one for PS3. During the set up for this you would be able to choose a wired connection and a wireless connection. For the best performance and reliability, I would suggest using a wired connection.2) After you made a static IP address you should use that to forward ports in your router. Go to the same website from step 1, but under "port forwarding" choose "Port Forwarding Guides by Router". Select your router (not every router in existence is on there) and choose "PlayStation Network" in the next list that comes up (it should be near that top in the second column). Follow the guide and if everything works PSN should work a lot better.I hope this additional info helps you.UPDATE:I watched a movie by streaming it with PS3 Media Server, and it played flawlessly. When I was using a wireless connection it would always stutter, and the playback would just pause for a while because the bit rate would go up to like 40mbs. That poop doesn't happen anymore and playback is smooth as silk.

Cat 6 cables? by Mediabridge
I am not a technician nor do I have the ability to test if these cables are up to Cat 6 standards. For that matter, I have no idea if these cables meet any standard at all. All I can tell you is that these are working fine for us. We have purchased a dozen of these cables so far. Each come in an excellent, durable, reclosable bag that has a tear tab above the zip reclose part. Like reclosable plastic bags. They also have included 1 reusable velcro strip to hold your cables together.I found that wifi just doesn't hold up to demands of various devices for downloads and updates. Ethernet is so much faster for downloading and uploading to hard wired devices. We live in the Columbus, Ohio area and our cable service provider is quickly working to upgrade our services to meet the 1 Gig and beyond. Where we live we are up to 400 mbps if we pay the extra fee for it. We currently have 200+mbps download and 24+mbps upload. Before I had Cat 5 cables and our speeds were at 100 mbps. ( verified constantly by Speedtest.net )It used to take us hours ( yes, literally ) to update our gaming systems and games via wifi. But when I switched everything I could to ethernet, holy moly, what a difference! I did an update for Star Trek online that was nearly 5 gigabytes in just a few minutes. I wish I had timed it but I was so used to walking away on updates that when I came back with my cup of coffee, it was already finished! It took longer to wait for the update to run and install than to download! We really like these cables and so far we have not had any issues with any of the cables we have. I had to order more to replace the cables provided by Spectrum. We run 1 Playstation 2, 3 and two PS4's. 1 Roku, 2 4k Sony bravia's, 1 personal computer and now they all run so much faster. Gaming is faster with less lag ( almost none ) and rubber banding than before except for that Star trek game. Oy what a pain, that game has so much lag time! I have the 7 foot model cables and so far, so good. The picture quality is so much better than before and that's not just gaming. We use Amazon video, Britbox, Netflix, Viki and a number of free video streaming services and the picture and audio quality is very crisp, clear and no pixelation like before. I hope this helps.

A survivor of a cable!
Almost 2 years of use and still going strong. It is routed from my cable modem through a wall, up into the attic, outside and around the house, down and into my bedroom. It has withstood heat from the attic and sun/rain from outdoors. It is connected to a switch hardwiring my Apple TV and Xbox, both of which get consistently high speeds. Would definitely recommend this cable!!
